Xie Xuanchen took the initiative to walk towards the encirclement as the imperial guards standing in the front row couldn’t help but retreat. The front and rear soldiers collided with their weapons and the morale of the army was immediately slackened. Seeing that the situation was wrong, the leader yelled suddenly, “Stop! Your Majesty has ordered that today’s Mid-Autumn Festival is under martial law and no one is allowed to pass without inspection.”
Hearing this, Xie Xuanchen finally raised his eyes to look at the leader of the imperial guards before he softly said a word with his thin lips, “Get lost.”

The leader of the Imperial Guard sighed, “Don’t act rashly and don’t stop him; just don’t do anything. Report to His Majesty first that things have changed.”
When the Emperor saw Mu Mingtang suddenly run out of her seat, he knew that something might have changed. However, the Emperor still had the chance to win back then since the key to victory was no one else but Xie Xuanchen.
Hence, it didn’t matter even if Mu Mingtang found out. So what if they figured out that it was a trick? So what if Xie Xuanchen knew that something was wrong? He wouldn’t be able to resist the urge of the drug anyways.
From the very beginning, the Emperor was sure to win— the difference was only whether his victory would be stainless or not. When Mu Mingtang left the table, the Emperor only felt that today’s ending might not be perfect, but other than that, he didn’t worry too much.
He didn’t think Mu Mingtang could have any influence on the result, so he didn’t send anyone to catch her at all.
The Emperor waited for a while before he suddenly saw someone hesitate outside the door. Without the Emperor’s words, the imperial eunuch had already quietly walked over. However, when he was leaving, the eunuch’s expression was obviously not that good.
The Emperor made some precautions in his heart, but after listening to the report from the eunuch, His Majesty’s expressions immediately darkened.
Everyone could see that the eunuch had said some things to the Emperor discreetly, causing a change of mood in the Emperor. The change was too obvious— even the courtiers below could sense that something was amiss, let alone the women of the harem.
The singing and dancing in the hall stopped for a while. First, Princess An left the table abruptly and then, the Emperor had a drastic change in expression. Even an idiot could tell that something must have happened to Prince An.
