Imperial Doctor Wu always relied on traditional methods of boasting and using his seniority as a weapon. He was talking vigorously before he realised that the room was eerily silent to the point where he could hear a pin drop with clarity. Imperial Doctor Wu inexplicably felt chills down his body and swallowed the rest of his words unknowingly.
Imperial Doctor Wu saw that everyone around him had lowered their heads tightly and remained silent. Even Mu Mingtang turned her eyes away and stopped looking at him. Only Xie Xuanchen stared at him with no expression on his face. Seeing him stop, the Prince asked, “Why aren’t you saying anything anymore? What is it that I can’t do?”
Imperial Doctor Wu swallowed his saliva silently, “I don’t want to instruct the Prince on how to act, but for a medicinal practitioner, you need to find someone who is reliable. A young, half monk like that shouldn’t be trusted.”
Xie Xuanchen smiled slightly and said, “Okay, since your medical skills are inherited from the utmost orthodox traditions and considering the fact that you are no longer that young, wouldn’t you be wronged by remaining in my residence as a doctor? Go back and pack your bags; my mansion no longer requires your services.”
Imperial Doctor Wu became anxious when he heard his reply as he shouted, “Your Highness, I am the Head Imperial Doctor appointed by His Majesty. Is Your Highness trying to go against the imperial decree?”
Never mention the pots with their lids still on(1). Xie Xuanchen was already in a bad mood, but hearing that this old geezer daring to mention the Emperor, he instantly smiled, “Okay. I wanted to keep your dignity and let you go out by yourself, but now it seems that you’re just trying to push my buttons when I have been nothing but lenient.”

After Xie Xuanchen finished speaking, his smile suddenly turned into an icy sneer and he said coldly, “Throw him and everything he owns outside.”
Imperial Doctor Wu was taken aback and immediately yelled. Xie Xuanchen thought it was annoying, so his eyes became even more threatening, “If you make any more noise, your corpse would be the next thing I throw out.”
Imperial Doctor Wu’s voice suddenly seemed to be cut off. After all, he knew that Xie Xuanchen’s words were not just empty words.
He could actually carry out the order.
Consequently, Imperial Doctor Wu was thrown out of the mansion, but he was truly ‘thrown out’. He was carried outside the door before his belongings were also flung out beyond the gates, causing passers-by to point and gossip at him, making him extremely embarrassed.
The matter with Imperial Doctor Wu seemed to only be the beginning, and soon, people in Prince An’s mansion were constantly being thrown out. Xie Xuanchen didn’t bother to go through the process one by one, so he merely stuck a name list on the gates of the mansion. The people on the list had a choice to either leave in that instant or die— their pick.
The people on the list protested all of a sudden, claiming that they were nothing but loyal and Prince An’s behaviour was too arbitrary. However, they continued to complain but did not dare to seriously do so in front of Xie Xuanchen.
