Mu Mingtang didn’t pay attention to what kind of bun she wore today. She rested on the dressing table with one hand and fell asleep accidentally. When she woke up again, she found that there were no sounds around her and the servant who was dressing up behind her had long since disappeared. In fact, there wasn’t a single servant in the whole room.
Xie Xuanchen was sitting beside her, playing with the tassel on her hair. He saw her open her eyes and smiled, “Are you awake?”
As soon as Mu Mingtang saw him, she became angry. She changed the direction her head was looking at and closed her eyes, completely ignoring him.
Xie Xuanchen didn’t think it was particularly disobedient and skillfully switched to the other side, asking, “Are you really still sleepy? Can you fall asleep even when I’m combing your hair?”
“Wouldn’t you know the reason why I slept so long last night and why my hair is this tangled?”
Xie Xuanchen was speechless as he gently wrapped his arms around Mu Mingtang’s waist and asked, “Are you still tired?”
Mu Mingtang closed her eyes and didn’t want to talk to him. Xie Xuanchen felt wronged— he really couldn’t be blamed for it, it’s just that Mu Mingtang needed to exercise more. He was almost coaxing her as he said, “Okay, blame me. Eat first and then go back to sleep for a while. If you can’t fall asleep, I can accompany you.”

The two of them were playing around when they suddenly heard the servant girl reporting outside, “Your Highnesses, Prince Jin, Princess Jin and the Concubine are all here.”
After she finished speaking, the tassel finally couldn’t take it anymore and fell to the ground with a click. Mu Mingtang frowned and muttered to herself, “What are they here for?”
Xie Xuanchen ignored the servant girl, picked up the tassel hairpin and inserted it into Mu Mingtang’s hair again, “Never mind them, I won’t grant them an audience”
