Xie Xuanchen was rather happy about the efficiency of the servants. He looked around the room before frowning slowly, “I’m sorry, I’ve wronged you these past few days.”
Mu Mingtang was silent and said from the bottom of her heart, “I think it’s still pretty good; I wasn’t wronged or suffering anyhow.”
She truly thought that such conditions weren’t all that bad. The house was clean and bright whereas the courtyard was neat and tidy. How was it shabby?
However, Xie Xuanchen felt that Mu Mingtang was saying such things to comfort him. He blamed himself even more and said, “After a period of time, when we settle down, we will buy a new house. I’m sorry, but you’ll have to suffer a little these days.”
Mu Mingtang actually started to wonder if she was the one suffering when it was clearly Xie Xuanchen who couldn’t accept such a small house. After he finished speaking, he saw that Mu Mingtang had no intention of questioning his words and asked curiously, “You’re just going to trust me blindly without asking me anything? And leave with me just like that?”
Mu Mingtang had a vague feeling from the beginning that once Xie Xuanchen left, he probably had no intention of coming back. That was probably why he insisted on taking her with him and stashed away a huge amount of gold.

Xie Xuanchen started to laugh when he heard this. He looked at her and said, “Aren’t you confident, huh? Do you think I can’t spare the time to torment you even during these days?”
Mu Mingtang originally didn’t want to show her timidity towards him, but there was an evil glint in Xie Xuanchen’s eyes and smile, making her not want to provoke him further. She couldn’t afford to offend Xie Xuanchen since he couldn’t care about anything else once he became excited.
Mu Mingtang admitted that she was cowardly and did not dare to tease him again. She deliberately changed the subject and suddenly turned around, “How are the preparations on the front line?”
Of course, Xie Xuanchen could see that Mu Mingtang was deliberately changing the topic. He didn’t push too hard and followed her wishes. He replied, “It’s okay, I’ve arranged everything. I won’t be able to finish it for the time being, but there’s no use staring at it all the time either so I came back first to visit you.”
Mu Mingtang was a little worried, “Ye Luji is still on the other side of the river. Is it okay if you’re not there?”

Mu Mingtang was silent after hearing this. After a moment, she said silently, “Speak properly and don’t be this arrogant.”
