When Mu Mingtang heard that it was him, she avoided his hand with a cold expression before she stood up and sat on the other side.
Xie Xuanchen didn’t feel embarrassed at all. He sat down where Mu Mingtang originally was and looked at the things in her hands across the table, “Looking at the account books? Why are you reading these energy-consuming things so early in the morning? With how hot the weather is, it’s about time to make the spring outfits. I’ll have someone buy whatever you like.”
Mu Mingtang finally gave Xie Xuanchen a glare, “There’s no need.”
Xie Xuanchen immediately clung to her. He did not dare to forcefully hug Mu Mingtang, so he could only touch her hand carefully, “I was wrong.”
Mu Mingtang glanced at him coldly, “Where did you go wrong?”
Xie Xuanchen paused for a moment, which was so obvious that even Mu Mingtang saw it. She was so angry that she was about to stand up and leave immediately, but Xie Xuanchen forcibly held her back, “Don’t be angry, don’t be angry, I really was the one at fault. I shouldn’t have lied to you.”
Mu Mingtang still had a cold expression on her face as she said, “I was very scared the moment you left, terrified that something might happen to you. But even when you returned, you didn’t tell me the truth.”
Xie Xuanchen sighed. This time, he knew that he had overdone it. He held Mu Mingtang’s hand and said sincerely, “It was my fault. I will never joke about this kind of thing again, I promise.”
Mu Mingtang couldn’t move away nor could she pull her hand away even if she wanted to, but she didn’t make an attempt at all. She kept her composure and said nothing. Xie Xuanchen saw that there seemed to be room for him to manoeuvre his way into forgiveness, so he quickly placed her onto his lap. Then, he put his arms around Mu Mingtang’s shoulders and admitted his mistake, ” I shouldn’t have worried you and lied to you by pretending to be ill. If you are angry, you can come at me, but don’t hold it in yourself. If you want to hit me or scold me, you can do it— do anything you want to.”
Xie Xuanchen’s tone was surprisingly sincere, so Mu Mingtang gradually softened and asked, “What else?”
What else? Xie Xuanchen started to have a headache, what else was there?
Mu Mingtang could tell by looking at his expression that he didn’t think he had done anything wrong at all. Mu Mingtang snorted and said, “Stop pretending that you don’t know anything. Speak, what did you do last night?”
When Xie Xuanchen realised what she was talking about, he was very helpless, “Baby, I truly listened to you and have already slowed down. If you don’t believe it, can we try the original speed tonight?”
This guy was so insufferable that Mu Mingtang glared at him angrily and was actually getting up to leave. Xie Xuanchen then hugged her with a smile, “Okay, okay, I will listen to you. I will try my best from now on.”
Xie Xuanchen hugged her and refused to let go. He acted coquettishly and swore his vow to the heavens, which made Mu Mingtang calm her temper. She had no choice but to say, “Alright, what if someone sees you like this? How unbecoming. Let go, I’m getting up.”
Xie Xuanchen analysed her words and observed her facial expressions, “Are you not angry anymore?”
Mu Mingtang immediately glanced at him angrily, “Who said so?”
