Chapter 8: 5: New Body.
Emilia considered him for a moment.
"Tell you what exactly?"
Edward hesitated for a moment.
"About what kind of person I was, what I liked, what I disliked..." He trailed off, not really sure about where to go with his request.
Then suddenly, Emilia walked back into the room, and gestured for him to sit.
She looked at him for a moment, then spoke.
"Well, to begin with, you are Edward Myrvale, the only child of Duke Arthur Myrvale."
He nodded.
"As for your hobbies, I’m sure you’ve noticed already, you really like dressing up."
She pointed to the closet.
"You also wanted to keep it a secret, but that got nowhere in this nosy household. Your father was taken aback initially, but then softened up. He really loves you, you know that right? After your mother died giving birth to you, he never took another wife, choosing to care for you and you only."
She hesitated for a moment, a strange emotion flickering past her eyes.
"As for you as a person, I think it’ll be better for you to learn it slowly through your surroundings."
She gave him a warm smile. And then patted his head.
"You can come to me anytime you’re confused about anything. I’ve been taking care of you since you were born after all, even if we’re not related by blood, you’re still like my own child."
A moment of silence passed, and a beeping emerged from Emilia’s pocket, breaking the silence.
She took out a small plank of something from her, which was ringing like an alarm.
"It seems I’m being summoned, I’ll have to leave for now, young master."
She quickly bowed to him and left the room.
Silence enveloped the room once more.
For the first time after being transmigrated into the world, Edward was truly left alone to sit with his feelings, and think.
He stared out the window into the darkness, and when that got old, he started inspecting his room.
His new room still looked a little off to him, unlike his old one, here there was no clutter he could find comfort in. Even if his room at earth had been messy with various things, it wasn’t the bad kind, it was almost always something he had cherished once.
His head felt strangely clear, like all the worries that had been weighing him down had magically lifted.
He still felt like it was all some kind of dream, and the next moment, he will wake back up in his futon, his landlord angrily knocking at his door.
But the flickering screen next to him didn’t give him much hope.
He stared at the glowing panels of the system for a while, then let out a sigh.
It’s not like i hate it anyways, i’ll just play along for now.
After that, he went inside his dressing room, looking for a change of clothes for the night.
The estate was too big for him to wander out alone, so finding the bathroom and washing himself was out of the question.
And its not like he was desperately in need of one, it was just to quench the small irritation. He still smelled like sweet flowers, and there wasn’t even speck of dirt on his clothes after what had happened in the morning. Maybe it was the system’s influence, but it looked like he had some kind of magical aversion to getting dirty.
He awkwardly started taking off his clothes. It was like solving a puzzle really, the amount of threads and buttons he had to untie and release was starting to make his fingers hurt, after struggling with it for a while, he finally finally managed to slip out of the dress.
He flinched when he saw his bare body in the mirror for the first time.
It was almost like staring at a naked stranger!
But somehow, a faint sense of familiarity still lingered.
His skin was extremely smooth, even pinkish at places. The sharpness that usually accompanied being a man was nowhere to be seen. Instead, his body was slender, and heavier at the bottom, shaped like an hourglass.
He looked up at his face, properly this time, not like the glances he had gotten in passing.
It was so smooth and round, his jaws were smooth, and his lips looked so supple. His eyes were this big cute round things, framed by lashes so ridiculously long he felt like he could use it as a duster.
Honestly, he was at a loss for words. He didn’t even know how to describe it. Anyway he looked at himself, it was impossible for him to be a man.
But he could still feel his manhood in between his legs, and his chest was as flat as a cutting board.
He shook his head, trying to get himself out of the trance. Then quickly put on a pyjama made out of silk.
The exhaustion was slowly starting to creep up on him, maybe it was because of that he had not shown much reaction to seeing his body.
Even though he had passed out earlier, he hadn’t gotten much rest in the name of sleep.
Yeah... that must be the case.
He decided, letting out a small yawn.
He then went and laid on his new fluffy bed, instantly slipping into the sweet embrace of oblivion.
