I'm the Owner of the Pokémon Day Care In the World of Pokémon Chapter 262

Since Yuga had decided to promptly adjust the physical condition of the Gliscor Leader and the three female Gligars, he began by focusing on their food.

Yuga decided that their recent meals would consist of the top-quality Pokéblocks made by Misaki, rather than the ones he had crafted himself.

Furthermore, he personally took charge of their training to ensure the swift evolution of the female Gligars.

On this particular day, Luna and Rand had finally completed their transfer procedures at the Trainers' School in Verdanturf Town and were about to depart for the preparatory camp in Sootopolis City.

The League's preparatory camp differed from regular Trainers' Schools. It did not send children on journeys after they turned ten; instead, it allowed them to continue their education within the school, following a more academic path.

Moreover, the preparatory camp operated with a militarized management style, imposing strict discipline on the students. Their life was no less demanding than that of traveling Trainers, and they enjoyed minimal vacation time.

His Uncle and Uncle Kate decided to personally accompany the two of them to Sootopolis City. This was also the only opportunity for parents to visit the preparatory camp, as they would not be allowed to attend it in the future.

Students could only anticipate vacations during the year-end holidays.

Yuga and his aunt had decided to personally accompany Luna and Rand to Sootopolis City. This was the sole opportunity for parents to visit the preparatory camp, as subsequent visits would not be permitted.

When Yuga and his Aunt accompanied Luna and his Uncle to see them off, Luna was crying uncontrollably in her aunt's arms.

It was understandable, as Luna had been pampered since childhood and had never traveled alone, let alone the prospect of living alone in an unfamiliar place in the future.

On the other hand, Rand was quiet during the journey, not causing any trouble. Unlike Luna, he didn't have to say goodbye to his mother since his only relative had accompanied him on this trip. However, it remained uncertain if, once they arrived at the preparatory camp, Uncle Kate would leave him just like Luna's situation.

After seeing Luna off to the preparatory camp, Yuga returned to the Day Care, resuming his hectic schedule.

Lately, Yuga had been swamped with numerous tasks: training new Pokémon, investigating the reasons behind Magikarp's inability to evolve, and making preparations for the breeding of the Gligars. Each task demanded his full attention.

However, shortly after his return to the Day Care, Yuga received a call from Mr. Norman.

"Mr. Norman? What prompted you to call me?" Yuga inquired.

In recent times, the Zapdos incident had not only affected Verdanturf Town but also had varying degrees of impact on the towns and cities around the Petalburg Woods. Besides the event's epicenter in Verdanturf Town, the four largest human settlements around the Petalburg Woods were Oldale Town, Verdanturf Town, Petalburg City, and Rustboro City. Among them, Petalburg City was the closest to the center of the forest.

As a Gym Leader and a Pokémon Trainer, Mr. Norman had been quite busy lately.

"I heard that you declined the invitation for an assessment from the Prosecutor's Bureau," Mr. Norman's voice came through the phone.

So, that's why he's calling, Yuga thought.

"Why did you reject such a good opportunity so easily!" Mr. Norman felt a little bit resentful.

Becoming a prosecutor wasn't something just anyone could achieve; it was a position held only by carefully selected elites. It was equivalent to an instant promotion.

For example, we all know about the Elite Four Challenge, and participating in it requires qualifications. Either you win a major League tournament, or you're a Gym Leader, or you have some other special status.

Prosecutors were similar in that regard; they held a unique status in the League.

Certainly, being a prosecutor has many advantages, but I won't delve into them. However, being a prosecutor is also a high-risk profession; that's inevitable since there's no such thing as a free lunch.

The reason Yuga was invited to this position, aside from his excellent performance in Verdanturf Town, was mainly due to a recommendation from Joyna.

Although various regions within the League sometimes compete, they are essentially part of a unified system. Especially among the various regional Inspectorates, given their unique roles, there is a tight network of communication. However, Yuga himself remained unaware of this.

"Why? can't you decline this?" Yuga asked in surprise.

On the other end of the phone, Mr. Norman sighed and ran his hand through his hair, saying, "Why did you decline? Being a prosecutor is an excellent opportunity. With your abilities, you could certainly pass the assessment."

Mr. Norman had high hopes for Yuga. Being from outside the Hoenn region, he had no close relatives in Hoenn apart from his wife and children. Thus, those younger trainers with a good impression of Yuga looked out for him and wished him a bright future.

However, Mr. Norman never expected Yuga to have such a carefree attitude. A bright future was right in front of him, and he had effortlessly pushed it away.

Yuga replied, "Because, if I can refuse, why not? I declined because I have no desire to become a prosecutor."

Why become a prosecutor when it was tiring, dangerous, and he could comfortably sit at home counting money? Why seek trouble?

"Do you even know what being a prosecutor signifies?" Mr. Norman asked, sounding extremely frustrated, as if he couldn't communicate with Yuga.

Of course, Yuga knew. He wasn't an idiot. Becoming a prosecutor meant stepping into the elite ranks of the League, signifying that he would have the chance to challenge the Elite Four and even the Champion in the future. It also meant boundless opportunities.

But the key was that Yuga's aspirations did not lie in that direction.

"Even if you know, you still declined!" Mr. Norman nearly shouted into the phone.

Hearing Mr. Norman's frustration, Yuga quickly tried to calm him down, saying, "Alright, Mr. Norman, I know you're concerned for me, and I truly appreciate it. However, people have their own ambitions. Some want immense wealth, others desire vast power. As for me, I just want to run my Day Care well. I genuinely have no interest in being a prosecutor."

Hearing Yuga's words, Mr. Norman fell silent for a moment. Finally, he let out a resigned sigh and said, "Fine, do as you please. But, is everything okay in Verdanturf Town recently?"

Yuga knew that Mr. Norman was referring to the Zapdos incident, given that Verdanturf Town was the site of the incident.

"It's fine. It's been quite some time since the incident, and most of the people involved have already left."

Verdanturf Town was a small town with limited security forces. When such a significant event occurred, Mr. Norman was still somewhat worried that Yuga might not have been able to handle it all.
