Yuga had to admit that Momiji's Ferrothorn was exceptionally well-bred. It surpassed the Cacturne and Tangrowth Momiji had used earlier.
Of course, Meganium was exceptional as well. Its outstanding support abilities had allowed it to stay in the battle even after Momiji had switched out three Pokémon.
Facing a Steel-type Pokémon, Grass-types were at a significant disadvantage. Yuga pondered for a moment and then threw out a Poké Ball.
Appearing on the field was a graceful and agile Sawsbuck.
Facing a Pokémon like Ferrothorn, which floated in the air and had incredible defense, and with Torterra providing ground support, it was better to use Special Attack-based Pokémon for ranged attacks.
However, Grass-type Pokémon, even with strong Special Attacks, struggled against the dual type Grass-Steel of Ferrothorn.
But Yuga's Sawsbuck was different. Despite being a Grass-type, it excelled at attacking other types, such as Fighting moves.
Additionally, while Sawsbuck was a melee Pokémon, it wasn't entirely defenseless against an airborne foe like Ferrothorn.
It was spring, and Sawsbuck's antler-like branches were adorned with small, pink, and tender flowers, giving it a playful and adorable appearance.
Upon entering the battlefield, Sawsbuck raised its front hoof, constantly flicking the soil beneath its feet, appearing relaxed but secretly building up power.
The impatient Ferrothorn used Gyro Ball once again to charge at Sawsbuck.
However, before it could get close to Sawsbuck, Sawsbuck leaped effortlessly onto Ferrothorn's head, performing a Double Kick.
Sawsbuck's impressive jumping ability left Momiji in awe, her mouth agape.
Yuga had tested this Sawsbuck, and when it came to jumping ability, it was no weaker than the legendary Blaziken, known for leaping over thirty-story buildings.
So, even if it faced an airborne Pokémon like Ferrothorn, Sawsbuck wasn't necessarily helpless.
Seeing Sawsbuck's hooves about to land on Ferrothorn's head, Meganium hurriedly intervened. A Reflect wall appeared beneath Sawsbuck's feet, and Sawsbuck stood solidly on the crystalline barrier.
Sawsbuck seemed unfazed by missing Ferrothorn. It cast a brief glance at Ferrothorn below the Reflect wall. Then, with a powerful push from its hind legs, it leaped over Ferrothorn's head and landed on the other side of the battlefield where Meganium was stationed.
It turned out that Sawsbuck's target wasn't the airborne Ferrothorn, but rather Meganium, which was shielded by layers of Spikes.
With its superb jumping ability, Sawsbuck effortlessly landed on Meganium's back, using it as a stepping stone.
Meganium was completely caught off guard and had no time to react.
Sawsbuck descended with a tremendous impact, flattening Meganium on the ground.
Before Meganium could get back up, Sawsbuck's next attack was ready. This time, it used Bug-type move, Megahorn.
Megahorn was a powerful move, but it had low accuracy. However, with Meganium right beneath Sawsbuck, there was no way to avoid it. The attack landed squarely.
With this, Meganium, which had seen three teammates replaced, finally exited the battle.
With no Meganium to contend with, Sawsbuck looked around at the scattered Spikes on the ground. Its four hooves tapped the earth, causing ripples on the ground.
The subtle tremors lifted the soil slightly and unearthed the Spikes buried beneath.
Sawsbuck had just used the Ground-type move Stomping Tantrum. With the Spikes out of the way, Sawsbuck started to dash around the battlefield freely. Ferrothorn chased after Sawsbuck in frustration, and at this moment, Torterra used Sunny Day, increasing Sawsbuck's speed as it ran.
At this point, Momiji's fifth Pokémon made its appearance, a cute Leafeon.
Momiji's fifth Pokémon had just reached the Pseudo-Elite level, and this stage was her limit in the competition.
After Leafeon came onto the field, Ferrothorn realized it couldn't catch Sawsbuck and decided to halt, flying over to Leafeon's side.
After all, no matter how strong Ferrothorn was, its role was primarily defensive, and it made no sense for it to keep an eye on Sawsbuck.
With Leafeon on the field, Sawsbuck stopped its sprint and confronted Leafeon not far away.
Compared to Sawsbuck's graceful figure, Leafeon appeared petite.
However, although its strength wasn't on par with Sawsbuck, its personality seemed somewhat stubborn. Faced with Sawsbuck's imposing presence, it didn't lower its head.
The area where Sawsbuck and Torterra were located was dotted with Stealth Rocks. Leafeon didn't dare to act recklessly.
At this moment, Momiji suddenly commanded Leafeon, saying, "Jump onto Ferrothorn's back."
Leafeon's eyes lit up at the command, and it effortlessly hopped onto the descending Ferrothorn.
To prevent Leafeon from falling off, Ferrothorn used its iron claws on its head to secure Leafeon in place.
Ferrothorn, with Leafeon, then flew towards Torterra's position.
At this moment, both Yuga and Sawsbuck and Torterra realized that Ferrothorn and Leafeon's target was Torterra.
Sawsbuck's sturdy hind legs suddenly exerted tremendous force, creating two deep circular holes in the ground, and then it leaped into the sky towards Ferrothorn and Leafeon.
Sawsbuck's jumping ability was outstanding, instantly reaching the same height as Ferrothorn. Ferrothorn's flying advantage didn't come into play at this moment.
However, just as it seemed Sawsbuck's Megahorn was about to hit Leafeon, Leafeon countered with Leaf Blade.
The collision between Megahorn and Leaf Blade generated tremendous force. Sawsbuck plummeted to the ground, while Leafeon and Ferrothorn were sent higher into the air, swaying unsteadily.
Creating distance from Sawsbuck, Ferrothorn grabbed Leafeon with its iron claws and tossed it down towards Torterra.
While soaring downwards, Leafeon performed a round of Swords Dance, then used Tackle to launch itself at Torterra.
As Leafeon approached, a wooden hammer materialized near Torterra. Upon collision with Leafeon, the hammer absorbed the impact, and Leafeon, agile as ever, landed on Torterra's back.
It turned out that Leafeon had no intention of directly confronting Torterra's wooden hammer. Instead, it chose to use a basic move, Tackle, to counter Torterra's advanced move, the wooden hammer, to prevent being pushed away by the hammer's recoil.
Leafeon didn't use its full strength in the basic move; it aimed to leverage it to land on Torterra's back.
Torterra's colossal size made it challenging for Leafeon to bounce around on its back, and so, Leafeon completed another round of Swords Dance on Torterra's back.
Sawsbuck attempted to rush over to support Torterra, but Ferrothorn intercepted it.
