Immortal Creed Chapter 273

An open space, without any superfluous buildings or decorations.

After all, the Rebel Army didn't plan to station here for too long, so they naturally wouldn't waste manpower to build a complete training ground.

Just finding a suitable open space for the soldiers to exercise daily was enough.

However, at this time, there were no soldiers training on the ground; having received orders, they were all busy packing their things, preparing to evacuate.

Only two figures, one with a gun and one with a sword, stood in the center of the open space, facing each other.

Uria held his gun in a ready stance, his expression serious, as he called out to Liens.

Liens held his sword in his right hand, his expression indifferent, his state very relaxed, not looking like he was in a duel. Hearing the question, he nodded slightly, indicating he was ready to begin.

Then, with a 'bang', Uria's body seemed to merge with the long spear in his hand as he thrust rapidly towards Liens.

The spear shot out like a dragon, its cold glint arriving first.

Even without any Elemental blessing, the power of this thrust was extremely terrifying, like a beast pouncing, the long spear breaking the sound barrier.

Liens's gaze showed no fluctuation; he simply dodged the spear thrust with a simple sidestep, then stepped forward, sweeping his long sword horizontally, like a dark crescent moon slashing towards Uria.

Uria stepped back to dodge the slash, creating distance, while simultaneously flicking his long spear upwards, intending to parry Liens's long sword.

The long spear's attack range was more than double that of an ordinary long sword. For a pure weapon duel, controlling the distance between them was the best combat strategy for Uria.

Facing the upward flick of the long spear, Liens did not evade; his long sword met the spear blade.

Uria frowned; the sensation from the long spear in his hand was very strange, as if he had lifted a high mountain, incredibly heavy.

But strangely, the sense of power he felt when it connected with the long sword was not very strong.

The unliftable weight contrasted sharply with the weak slash, making it difficult for him to discern Liens's true power level.

Combat changes in an instant, leaving him no time to fully comprehend what move Liens was using, when Liens stepped forward again, closing in, his long sword like a flash of light, thrusting towards him.

The long sword was extremely fast, closing in on Uria's body in the blink of an eye. He wanted to step back to dodge the attack and create distance, but the long sword clung to him relentlessly.

It was as if an invisible wind had connected his body to the long sword, predetermining his fate to be pierced.

Seeing that dodging was impossible, Uria stopped retreating, raising his spear to block the long sword. This pause brought him within the long sword's attack range.

This, naturally, was quite disadvantageous for him.

In an instant, a continuous flurry of sword light surrounded Uria. He retracted his spear, shortening its attack range, his eyes keenly catching every flash of sword light, his long spear sweeping left and right to block the slashes.

"Clang, clang, clang..."

Rapid but continuous sounds of weapons clashing echoed in the empty training ground.

Two figures moved constantly in the open space, but their speed was so fast that ordinary people could only see blurred images.

Uria tried to turn his body to dodge the sword blade, but failed. The long sword cut his skin, leaving a tiny wound, and immediately slashed at him again.

This shattered Uria's attempt to re-establish distance between them.

And as he blocked more and more attacks, he found that the force of the slashes grew heavier and the speed increased.

At first, it was just the level of an ordinary knight. Although a bit weak, considering the Grandmaster Realm and Elemental blessing were ignored, Liens's physical condition was indeed only at the level of an ordinary knight.

So, it was quite normal.

What surprised Uria, however, was that Liens truly didn't use elements or any other means to enhance his physical abilities, fighting him purely with the physical condition of a knight.

Upon realizing this, Uria felt a bit of anger, thinking that Liens didn't respect him.

But as he repeatedly tried and failed to dodge these not-so-fast attacks, and as the long sword's speed and force grew stronger, his dissatisfaction vanished.

There was no question of respect or disrespect; Liens was merely adhering to the sparring rules he had set earlier, not using too much power, only comparing pure technique.

Moreover, if he couldn't even handle this, then talking about others not respecting him would be even more ridiculous.

Thinking of this, Uria's fighting spirit soared in his eyes, and an invisible white giant wolf seemed to emerge behind him... He didn't want to be underestimated.

After taking a few sword strikes with minor injuries, Uria seized an opportunity, charging his long spear for a horizontal sweep, forcing Liens back.

"Drip, drip, drip..."

Blood seeped uncontrollably from numerous wounds, large and small, staining his clothes and the yellow earth beneath his feet. His entire body below the neck seemed covered in blood, looking particularly gruesome.

However, these injuries, though severe in appearance, were only superficial, minor wounds for a Great Knight like Uria.

Even without using a Healing Potion, a Great Knight's powerful self-healing ability would quickly mend them, and Liens had acted with restraint, making it impossible to truly harm Uria.

Without hesitation, after a brief adjustment of his breathing, Uria thrust his spear towards Liens. A continuous flurry of thrusts, like a pear blossom storm, sealed off all of Liens's escape routes.

In response, Liens stood his ground, his long sword flowing like water before him, deflecting the attacks. Sparks from countless weapon collisions reflected in his calm, unruffled eyes.

Seeing that the continuous thrusts didn't even touch Liens's clothes, Uria didn't lose heart. He found an opportunity and delivered a powerful, heavy downward chop towards Liens.

Liens held his sword with both hands and swung it to meet the attack. Sword and spear collided, stopping mid-air. The immense force was directed into the ground, causing the earth beneath Liens's feet to sink and crack extensively.

Looking at Liens, who had calmly received his downward chop, Uria's eyes once again showed a hint of shock.

He had expected Liens to evade, as it seemed somewhat unwise to simply use the physical condition of an ordinary knight to withstand a Great Knight's charged downward chop.

But Liens not only took it head-on but also appeared largely unaffected, which left Uria utterly surprised.

How could such a large power disparity be negated by technique?

Without time to ponder, Uria held his spear to block Liens's counterattack, then moved nimbly to dodge attacks or used wide-ranging moves like horizontal sweeps to create distance between them.

The battle continued, Uria's fighting spirit still burning, but the fight quickly ended. His passion couldn't erase the vast technical gap between him and Liens.

Looking at the long sword pressed against his chest, Uria's face showed a hint of disappointment.

A sudden sword strike had reached his chest before he could even react.

That sword was very fast, but upon careful recollection, he realized it wasn't exceptionally fast; it was just that he simply couldn't react, as if the blade had suddenly vanished and then reappeared, like a fleeting spark.

"Is this the technique of the Grandmaster Realm? I saw many shadows of techniques in your swordsmanship, but when you use them, they are much stronger than when others do."

"Did you integrate other people's techniques and then enhance them?"

Uria sighed with emotion, then asked Liens with confusion.

"Yes and no... I am indeed very familiar with some techniques, and even using them is not difficult for me, but I only use one type of technique—Momentum."

"All the changes you saw were merely following the 'potential'; all the illusions you experienced were merely your mind being influenced by the 'potential'."

"The body follows the will, the will comes from the heart, the heart aspires to the True Path, and the True Path follows nature."

Looking at Liens, who was once again spouting 'riddles', Uria felt a headache coming on. He thought Liens's 'riddles' were even more annoying than Donahue's verbosity.
