Immortality Starts From Making Money. Chapter 169

A shocking scene appeared in the capital. A group of kids around 8 to 15 were seen carrying a bunch of paper around the capital.

"Do you want to know the latest news in the capital and its surroundings? Buy The Times newspaper today."

"Latest news from The Times newspaper cost only ten lower-grade spirit stones."

On the street, the pedestrians looked at the boys and girls shouting in confusion.

A curious middle-aged man stopped one of them—a girl.

"What is this?" he asked.

"Sir, it is called a newspaper. From it, you can learn the latest news," she said, flashing him her best smile.

The man creased his brow, his confusion deepened. What’s a newspaper? Such strange things had never appeared in the capital before.

Still, the man could not contain his curiosity and bought one. Ten lower-grade spirit stones were nothing in the capital.

Looking at the captivating headlines and vivid images, the man was stunned.

This was not a drawing.

He checked the paper carefully, trying to see if his eyes were deceiving him.

After checking for a few minutes, he discovered he could not find out how the image appeared on the paper.

"Who created such a fascinating thing?" he muttered out loud.

Though fascinated by the image, as he read the various headlines, he was stunned.

Before he knew it, he was on the spot reading the newspaper.

"Ah! The Thousand Wealth Chamber is recruiting? How come there is no news?"

"What? The three powerful sects are considering creating a branch in the capital?"

The more he read the newspaper, the more he got stunned.

There was a lot of information on the paper that he forgot he was in the middle of the road.

Seeing the middle-aged man, the other pedestrians were also curious.

Quickly, many bought the paper. Since it was cheap, they did not mind wasting ten lower-grade spirit stones.

However, when they started reading the newspaper, they were captivated by the news.

Just like that, the news of The Times newspaper spread like wildfire.

Inside the Golden Pavilion, the Pavilion Master had The Times

The structure and image of the newspaper stunned him to his core. This was unlike any book he had ever seen.

The characters were not written by hand. Also, the image was too vivid to be handmade.

If it was drawing, how could they make so many?

"How did the Broken Moon Consortium create such a magical thing?" he mused, his confusion.

The Broken Moon Consortium was his rival; he knew everything about them.

He knew they could not have created such an artifact to produce the newspaper.

In addition, the idea of a newspaper was novel. He would be a fool if he thought the Young Miss did this.

"There is only one group that could do this..." he mused, tapping his armrest.

"The Thousand Wealth Chamber."

Apart from the Thousand Wealth Chamber, no one had the means and idea to create such a novel thing.

He wore an ugly expression. "When did the Broken Moon Consortium partner with them?"

He believed his pavilion and the Broken Moon Consortium would be staying on the fence, but he was wrong.

His pavilion was in the dark all this while. The Broken Consortium had taken another direction different from what he imagined.

Slowly, his expression turned unsightly, a deep boiling rage erupted from the depth of his soul.

"How could she do this?"

He believed they had a tacit understanding, but he was wrong. All those thoughts were only in his mind—his fantasy.

"Are you there?" he shouted.

The door was pushed open and his assistant entered with a slight frown on his face.

"My Lord, you called me."

"I want to know what is going on with the Broken Moon Consortium. Find everything about them. How could they produce the newspaper?" the Pavilion Master commanded in a solemn tone.

"Yes, My Lord. I’ll see to it immediately." He responded and gave a deep bow before he retreated in large strides.

His pavilion was one of the major forces in the capital, but the appearance of the Thousand Wealth Chamber changed everything.

Still, he did not think too much about it. But now, he could not accept the Broken Moon Consortium surpassing him.

They both came from the Central Region. How could he accept he was weaker than her?

Inside the Governor’s mansion, the Governor and his wife sat on a wooden bench under an oak tree.

"Hubby, this is going to change everything," his wife said, holding The Times newspaper.

"You’re wrong," the Governor shook his head. "Since the Thousand Wealth Chamber arrived, everything was already changing."

His wife did not respond for a moment. "You’re right. The Thousand Wealth Chamber was the greatest dark horse. But are you not worried?"

"Worried about what? If you’re talking about those from the capital or those greedy bastards during the summit, what does it have to do with me?" he responded casually.

"If they wanted to attack someone, they would attack the Thousand Wealth Chamber. I have nothing to do with it." He added before taking a sip from his spirit tea.

"Hubby, why do I feel you’re on the brink of breakthrough?" she said, staring at him with a wide smile.

"Hahaha. You’re right. The Thousand Wealth Chamber’s spirit tea is really magical. I expected a breakthrough in the next three to five years, but now..." A deep smile appeared on his face.

Out of the four known Golden Core Experts from the Southern Region,

He was the weakest. He was only at the Golden Core Realm Stage 1.

But that was not his greatest disadvantage. When he broke through to the Golden Core Realm, his foundation was weak and unstable.

Thus, his power was nothing but a bit stronger than a Half-Step Golden Core Realm.

But now, if he could break to Stage 2 before the summit, he wouldn’t be as weak as before.

With the rising tension in the shadows, only sufficient strength could keep him and his family safe.

And this was the reason he did not go against the Thousand Wealth Chamber.

Perhaps, the Southern Region might depend on them during the chaos.
