To summarize what the Archangel told Memphis: some years ago—right after she was born—the prodigal son of Heaven, Lucifer Morningstar, decided that since he couldn't physically harm his Father, he'd settle for emotionally harming Him. He did so by battling his way through the Heavenly Kingdom, knowing full well that his Father would be naive enough to regard this as one of his "tantrums."
It was then that Lucifer revealed his true intentions. He took both the All-Father and the Archangels by surprise by focusing all his power on restraining and capturing the #1 being under the All-Father in the Heavenly Kingdom: Mikaela Celestine.
Surprisingly, Lucifer was successful in this endeavor. All his planning paid off, and he managed to slip out of the Heavenly Kingdom's Sixth Floor with the divine beauty in his grasp.
The other Archangels immediately became incensed by this incident and angrily discussed countermeasures to rescue Mikaela Celestine. However, when they sought the opinion of the All-Father, they received a revelation that left many of them dumbfounded. This revelation was also one of the prime reasons why God hadn't stopped Lucifer Morningstar at all costs.
As it turned out, Lucifer—just a few hundred years ago—had been involved with the illustrious #1 Archangel. However, the night right after they consummated their fleeting relationship, Mikaela never spoke to him again and returned to the Heavenly Kingdom.
Basically, she ghosted him.
Heartbroken, Lucifer did whatever he could think of to mend the bridge between him and Mikaela. But as the coldest Goddess in the Heavenly Kingdom, she was not easily wooed. Considering that night to be a grave mistake on her part, she did her utmost to forget it ever happened.
And yet Lucifer would always be there to remind her of that day…
This strange dynamic of Lucifer as the lovesick romantic and Mikaela as the emotionless heartbreaker led to an unhealthy obsession forming on Lucifer's side. Over time, his once pure feelings of love and devotion became twisted, and he began regarding the Archangel as some sort of personal property. It became so extreme that whenever Lucifer heard whispers of a man even so much as approaching Mikaela, he would freak out and unleash his fury upon the upper reaches of HELL.
The Hellish dimension had experienced numerous tribulations because of the furious tantrums of one of their tyrannical Hegemons…
It wasn't until many years later—when the kidnapping incident occurred—that the Angels of the Heavenly Kingdom learned groundbreaking information from their God.
As it turned out, when Mikaela and Lucifer had that scandalous one-night stand all those years ago, Mikaela became… pregnant.
This meant that Mikaela's pregnancy was not the result of some illicit relationship with a mortal. Rather, it stemmed from something even more forbidden: the Fallen Angel, Lucifer.
Seeing as Angel pregnancies—extremely rare as they were—normally lasted for hundreds of years with no visible belly deformation, it wasn't until the baby arrived and the All-Father's revelation that everyone learned the truth.
That baby was Memphis—a baby girl who, right after her birth and the kidnapping of her mother, was sent down to the Trial Floor of Humanity on a secret operation by her mother. The Angels tasked with sending her down and keeping her away from the danger of the Heavenly Kingdom and HELL were also instructed to find her a good new family.
The leader of that small D-Rank Hunter Party and his wife became that family. Though, with the early death of the wife, it was really only the leader who was left to act as a parental figure for the barely three-year-old Memphis. But with the passing of time, he eventually died as well.
If not for Cassius and the rest of the Steele Household's warmth, she might've truly been left all alone…
However, 17-some-odd years following Memphis's birth, something changed in Mikaela's predicament. After so long of being pampered and treated like an absolute queen by Lucifer—yet giving nothing in return—he finally couldn't take it anymore and ran to a famous Succubus whorehouse to drown his sorrows.
For hundreds of years, he had patiently and excruciatingly waited to taste that divinely sculpted body again. Yet that time never came.
Even as he did whatever she requested of him, he received not even a small smooch in return…
Life truly was so cruel!
And with her power not much different from his—beyond locking her on the Sixth Floor of HELL—he was unable to do much else. Forcing her into his bed was, naturally, out of the question.
Thus, when he finally became so pent up that he couldn't take it anymore, but was brutally rejected by Mikaela, he resorted to prostitution to alleviate some of his pent-up desires. In his lustful negligence, he completely forgot about maintaining the trap he had set for the Archangel. Within the day, she broke free with ease.
The first thing she did upon her return—after informing the other Angels and the All-Father of her arrival—was to break a few laws and once again descend to the Trial Floor of Humanity. It was then that she encountered those pesky invaders, whom she learned had snuck into the Ascension Tower in recent years.
But with "him" guarding that particular area of Humanity's Ascension Tower, Mikaela knew full well that the invaders would never succeed in whatever they were planning.
Nonetheless, returning to the present…
"My father…" Memphis murmured, her expression slightly listless. "No! Even if he was not my blood-related father, he was still the only father in my heart! Not some prodigal son of… Wait—HELL!? And you said this was the Heavenly Kingdom… So Heaven??"
"Yes, my dear," Mikaela said with a small smile. "HELL is real, and Heaven is real, and you—you are someone of one of the highest statuses in Heaven. As my daughter, your lineage is second to none here."
Memphis had a lot to process.
But just moments ago, she was suddenly marked to be a skin-suit for extraterrestrial beings, so nothing should surprise her anymore.
