Shirone’s party arrived at the Whirlwind Serpent’s valley with Guardrak.
Though the law had been broken, and it could no longer be called the Whirlwind Serpent’s valley, a name maintained for tens of thousands of years would not disappear easily.
Guardrak said they would not find any more guides here.
With the Whirlwind Serpent gone, a new law might emerge. Whatever the law it was, it would not be friendly to them.
Guardrak: "You’ll see it someday. Laws are finite, but humans are infinite. Even if Heaven perishes, Noor’s Sanctuary will remain."
With those words, Guardrak disappeared.
The idea that humans were infinite resonated with Shirone. Even here, tens of thousands of light years away, humans lived.
The party launched three drones into the sky.
Having experienced the Kergo’s heretic hunt, the importance of reconnaissance had grown.
When Shirone asked about Heaven, Kanya explained kindly, unlike when they first met.
Kanya: "Heaven is divided into seven skies. From the seventh sky, Arabot, to the first sky, Shamain. Divine people live in the first sky, Shamain. The Mecha, Noor, and Kergo races uphold the law and perform their given tasks. The Kergo produce, the Mecha process, and the Noor supply."
Shirone: "But isn’t that unfair? Your roles are decided from birth."
Kanya: "We’ve been doing this for hundreds of thousands of years. We simply follow the law of Anke Ra."
As far as Shirone knew, civilization in his original world had only existed for about 10,000 years. If Heaven had existed for hundreds of thousands of years, it would have reached population saturation, regardless of social issues.
When Shirone voiced his thoughts, Kanya tilted her head in confusion.
Kanya: "Having such doubts is blasphemy. Anke Ra governs the world. The population of Shamain has never increased or decreased. It’s always the same."
Shirone: "How is that possible? Is there a population control policy?"
Kanya: "Those who uphold and follow the law gain eternal life. They enter the 3rd sky, Shehakim, and live forever."
Shirone: "Then those who don’t gain eternal life die?"
