Ye Fan stood up, ready to greet the reporter with a smile and to step out from behind his desk, when he suddenly felt something familiar about her.
Upon a closer look, he immediately remembered that the female reporter was none other than Liao Susu, the beautiful journalist whom he had refused an interview with after catching a pickpocket on the street.
Liao Susu, upon laying eyes on Ye Fan clad in his imposing police uniform, was momentarily taken aback, then recognition dawned on her, and an amused, triumphant smile appeared on her picturesque face.
“Hello, Commissioner Ye; I’m Liao Susu, a reporter from Long’an City Television,” Liao Susu said, her playful demeanor gone, replaced by a professional smile.
Ye Fan nodded slightly and replied, “Hello, Comrade Reporter.
As he spoke, he gestured for her to sit.

I’ll call a female colleague.”
Entertaining Liao Susu and the man with the camera by himself seemed too bland, and since Liao Susu was a woman, Ye Fan planned to invite Xu Xiangli to join them.

Ye Fan did not initiate conversation, and remained silent until they stopped in front of a relatively upscale-looking hotel.
