When I first arrived here, a mountain elf explained the setup to me with an exhausted yet satisfied expression.
Next, the stairs leading to the second and third floors, as well as the basement.
By stepping onto the first step, you are automatically carried up or down.
I’ll admit, I was a little scared the first time I tried it.
I’m used to it now, though.
These moving stairs were village chief’s idea, with the mountain elves handling the mechanisms.
Loo-sama and Tier-sama provided the power source.
There’s also a box for traveling between floors!
It’s just like the floating garden in Village Four.
You stand inside a box or on a platform, and it moves up or down.
That one wasn’t scary at all.
Then, there’s the magical lighting.
With just a switch, you can adjust the brightness as needed.
Even if the lights are installed high up on the ceiling, it’s no problem.
And finally, the magical air-conditioning units!
These devices regulate the indoor temperature and are installed in every room of the building.
Even the employee dormitories and dining hall have them.
It’s village chief’s way of ensuring a comfortable working environment for the staff.
I want to do my best to live up to that thoughtfulness.
Of course, temperature control is especially crucial in the kitchen, storage rooms, and the display area where finished products are kept, so those areas have extra-large air-conditioning units.
On top of that, there are backup units in case one breaks down.
As expected of village chief—ever cautious.
Next to the sales area, there is a waiting space for customers, and here, incredibly, a magical music box has been installed.
Since its purpose is to keep waiting customers entertained, all the tunes are gentle and relaxing, but there are a total of thirty different tracks!
During business hours, this magical music box will be playing continuously.
Let’s talk about the kitchen facilities and equipment.
There’s a magical oven that maintains a constant heat, a refrigerator that keeps items cool, a freezer that preserves items in a frozen state, a magical mixer that stirs ingredients at high speed, and even a magic pot that heats water instantly—just to name a few.
All of them are available in multiple units and are designed to be user-friendly in size.
Since the kitchen will be operating with a ten-person rotating staff, having multiple units is a necessity.
Oh, and one more thing—the building is fully equipped with running water.
Water from a storage tank on the roof is distributed throughout the building via a network of pipes, allowing access to water with a simple operation.
Since this system is a given in village chief’s mansion back in the Big Tree Village, I nearly overlooked mentioning it.
However, no matter how many times I look at it, this building is truly magnificent.
It’s made of brick, but thanks to the large glass windows strategically placed throughout, the interior is bright and has a surprisingly open feel despite the solid exterior.
You might think the glass windows would be fragile, but for some reason, they’re incredibly sturdy.
Village chief called it “tempered glass.”
Most likely, it was developed during the creation of the magical doors.
I also heard that something was done to the bricks, but I’m not sure what exactly.
Since village chief is always concerned about fire hazards, it’s probably some kind of fireproofing measure.
Of course, I hope we never find ourselves in a situation where that’s put to the test.
