Island God: Going From Level 1 To World Ruler Chapter 84

A month passed by swiftly, like air traveling across the open sky.

’Hmm...’ Dorian thought to himself, sitting on an odd-looking chair.

It was a massive chair made of a white, hard substance. A large leaf pattern stood as the backrest of the chair, and sculpted vines traveled throughout it.

The air of the atmosphere he was currently in was that of a slight green hue. It was warm, but still tinged with wilderness.

’I’ve finally finished visiting all the places I wanted to see...’ Dorian thought to himself, lying back nonchalantly, ’These fairies are much less elegant compared to the last time I met them.’ He said inwardly, staring forward.

He was currently inside a large chamber that resembled the inside of a hollow flower.

The walls looked to be made of four massive flower petals, but they were indeed real walls made of a hard substance. The walls were patterned with nature and embroidered with various patterns of wilderness.

The roof lay open, pillars standing high at the center of the area.

Above the roof, one could only see darkness and sparks of light, as though one were looking at the stars.

There were many windows in this room, but the light-green hue that was cast over the chamber was not due to these windows. The color seemed to exist on its own.

In this room, another being stood with Dorian.

It was a very tall individual dressed in long green and white robes. Their hair was white and almost blended into their pale skin. It was long, flowing down past their shoulders and all the way to the middle of their back.

This individual had long, pointy ears that stuck out to the sides. Their face was human, but better. It was more elegant. More peaceful, unblemished, and almost awe-inspiring.

The man standing before Dorian was a male elf.

"That is why you have come here?" The elf suddenly spoke, his gaze slowly turning toward Dorian. His voice was so calm and warm, almost echoing in its ethereal nature. "To see what our lands have become?" The elf asked rhetorically. "Your question is broad."

The elf looked Dorian up and down, "And your arrogance is at an all-time high."

"Listen, Eslayas... I don’t want to stir any trouble. Can a man not go sightseeing after being caged for thousands of years?" Dorian said with a convincing tone, followed by a slight smirk.

"Hmph." The elf addressed as "Eslayas" did not seem impressed. He gazed to the side, "Caged, huh?" He paused for a moment, "I know that you know I am not foolish enough to believe that you are merely sightseeing. For all I know, you may be here to figure out the ranks of your enemy... or worse." He gave Dorian a striking gaze at the end.

His face didn’t change, but one could tell through his eyes that his intentions were stern.

"Whoa! Calm down... I regret doing what I did back then, so don’t take your anger out on me for it!" Dorian said, raising his hands.

"You speak as though you made up for your sins... You haven’t even returned what you stole from us yet." Eslayas retorted.

"Well, you know I can’t do that! I already gave it to him!" Dorian replied, insistent.

Eslayas sighed, "Fine... just see what you need to see and go already. We have more things to attend to." He said, walking over to a window and gazing out of it.

Dorian didn’t say a word.

"My daughter..." Eslayas paused as Dorian’s eyelids narrowed as though to listen closer, "She is slowly aging and becoming an adult. She is already at the age where she wants to explore the world. She plays with those older than herself and often gets lost. I find myself worrying about her more than the countless stacks of paperwork I have in my office..." He said in a low tone.

"I..." Dorian replied, garnering a glance, "Don’t care about your daughter, Eslayas." He stated blankly.

"Well, I guess that makes sense. You are a human, after all." Eslayas quickly replied.

"Huh? I don’t care because I am Dorian... not because I am human. What do you mean by that anyway?" Dorian replied, slightly confused.

Humans live and die within a few short moments of time. A hundred years, is it?" Eslayas said, "Even though you are thousands of years old, that still doesn’t change your nature. Humans do not care for the value of life as elves do. We value life above all else."

A long pause ensued between the two.

"Eslayas..." Dorian said with a pause, "The north will be unlocked sooner or later."

The elf instantly turned his entire body toward Dorian on hearing this, his expression finally changing drastically as his eyelids widened a bit with shock.

"What did you say? The north will be unlocked?" Eslayas asked as though he wasn’t hearing right.

"Yeah... that’s also a part of the reason I came here. This game is rotten... it brings about the worst of ideas and ventures. Many Player’s will plot to uncover the north." Dorian said.

"You are only assuming this information?" Eslayas asked for confirmation.

"Mostly, yes. But I have already encountered a Player who yearns to visit there. It seems the powers within the game system itself lures Player’s there. It is only a matter of time now." Dorian said, "The entire world will be destroyed if a Player conquers Fell-Terra. I suppose they will need to enter the north eventually."

Eslayas paused, his expression telling. Many thoughts raced through his head as he put the pieces together.

"I see..." He finally said, "I suppose it is inevitable then." He looked up at Dorian, "Thank you for telling me this, oh great Disturber Of Peace..."

Dorian nodded, standing straight.

"It’s time for me to go now... I’ll meet with you again when the time comes. For now, I must perform my duty." Dorian said, walking toward a large open doorway, the shape of a leaf. "It was a pleasure meeting you again, Father of the Green Earth Elves..."
