Alec ignored Rotten Persimmon and the others’ dismayed expressions, and glanced at the corpse at his feet.
He seemed to remember something, bent down, and picked up the short axe, casually tucking it into his belt.
“In fact, I am on my own world adventure. These dangers are merely my seasoning, hardly worth mentioning… Your interruption even spoiled my mood, which is quite rude.”
Rotten Persimmon was already impatient, and a team member behind him couldn’t stand this bragging ordinary NPC, so he interrupted Alec:

He raised the short axe in his hand, pointing it at Rotten Persimmon and his group.
“I challenge you to a duel! If you’re a gentleman, accept the challenge courageously. Otherwise, you’re nothing but cowards!”
The group was taken aback.
Rotten Persimmon’s eyebrows raised, not expecting things to turn out this way. The NPC in front of him was probably more broken than a plague madman.
“Huh? Really not afraid to die!”
One of Rotten Persimmon’s teammates spoke up.
He walked over to Rotten Persimmon, whispered a couple of sentences, suggesting that since this blond fool seemed to have a decent appearance and extraordinary demeanor, he might have a hidden identity, so it was best to just kill him, and maybe they’d get something valuable.
Rotten Persimmon’s eyebrows raised again, considering it made sense, so he nodded slightly.
“Come on, I accept your challenge, let’s duel!”
The God’s Love guild member, after getting an acknowledgment from Rotten Persimmon, stepped forward and stood opposite Alec.
“Brave! Then no more talk, let’s start!”
Alec stood with hands akimbo and barked an order.
He lifted the short axe and charged towards his opponent with a strong momentum.
“Dragon-slaying Axe!”
His face contorted with ferocity, he shouted loudly and violently chopped down with the short axe!
The others were startled by his shout.
The player dueling with Alec, holding a rusty sickle, raised his weapon and hooked the handle of the axe.
His originally nervous heart suddenly turned into disdain, and then with a little effort, he flipped Alec’s hand over.
The short axe clattered to the ground.
The player sneered, swung his hand, and the sickle swept across Alec’s neck.
Alec’s eyes bulged, his expression frozen in shock.
“My… world adventure, is it coming to an end here?”
His throat was slit, blood sprayed forth. The next second, his body softened, and he collapsed to the ground.
A harmonica fell from his embrace.

The player involved in the duel sneered and wiped the blood off his sickle before bending down to pick up the harmonica from the ground.

Item Description: A plain wooden harmonica, a small blown instrument. Its former owner appears to have been a wandering bard. Sadly, he was cruelly killed in a duel.
The player spat and carelessly threw the harmonica away.

Someone responded with a laugh.
Rotten Persimmon exhaled and shook his head,

A player at the back of the pack even casually picked up the short axe. They were just too poor, lacking even a single decent weapon, and the axe was a lot more useful than a rusty kitchen knife.
About ten minutes later, as they continued on, they suddenly heard cries of agony and cursing again.

A few breaths later, they left the main road and at the bottom of a weed-covered hillside, they saw a blond young man, chased by a plague-infected rabid dog.
The blond wore a hat adorned with feathers and a dirty cloak draped over him. His handsome appearance and tall stature…
Rotten Persimmon and the several players were stunned.
The guy being chased by the dog, wasn’t he the same wandering bard from before?! But he was just killed, how could he appear here so soon?!
