Mrs. Caroline said with a kind expression.
“Not at all, Mrs. Caroline is always welcome to visit the manor. We’ve received so much care from you when we first arrived in Amber City.”
Chen Lun softly said while patting Babu’s head.
Babu had not seen Chen Lun for a long time and was extremely excited, continually licking his palm.

Mrs. Caroline laughed as she followed Chen Lun into the manor.

Floey went to the kitchen to busy herself, indicating that she wanted to make a special afternoon tea for Mrs. Caroline.
Chen Lun watched her back and chuckled softly.
“Mrs. Caroline, have you gotten used to living in the Inner City District lately?”
He poured two cups of tea and asked casually.
Mrs. Caroline took a sip of her tea.
“Though the Inner City District is far more prosperous than the Outer City District, the people here aren’t as easy to get along with… Thankfully, I have Babu’s company, and Pompey’s family also visits me occasionally.”
Chen Lun nodded and listened silently.
“Mr. Tao Te has not awoken since his injury last time, and I’m quite worried about him.”
Mrs. Caroline’s face showed concern.
“Don’t worry, Mrs. Caroline, Dr. Maggie examined him last time. It’s just a deep sleep, and I believe he will wake up soon.”
Chen Lun comforted her.
Mrs. Caroline forced a smile.
The two chatted idly for a while longer when Floey came over with a plate.
“Mrs. Caroline, this is a rose red wine cake that I created using your cooking manual and adding some of my own attempts.”
On the plate were two beautifully garnished red cakes with cream decorations, accompanied by two specially blended milk teas.
“Oh, it’s absolutely gorgeous! Floey, your skills are beyond my expectations!”
Mrs. Caroline praised.
She lifted the plate, scooped up a bit with her spoon and took a bite, as the wrinkles at the corner of her eyes spread out.
“It tastes wonderful!”
She sighed appreciatively.
Chen Lun looked at the cake in front of him and turned to look at Floey, who smiled at him.
“You should have some too.”
Floey shook her head slightly.
Without another word, Chen Lun took a spoonful and brought it to Floey’s lips.
Floey was taken aback for a moment, then her cheeks flushed as she opened her mouth.
After she finished that bite, Chen Lun began to taste his own.
Mrs. Caroline watched this scene, nodding her head with an even broader smile.
“The affection between you siblings is still so strong.”
Chen Lun didn’t explain but chuckled and agreed.
However, Floey’s cheeks reddened even further.
The border collie, Babu, seemed to sense something, switching from lying down to a sitting position, sniffing around with its nose.
It turned its head and saw a little white cat strolling over leisurely.
Babu, as if having found something amusing, dashed over to the white cat excitedly, baring his teeth in a scare and letting out a low growl.
But the white cat glanced at him and simply leapt up, kicked off his forehead, and landed on the sofa’s armrest.
Babu was stunned at first, then, feeling challenged, tried to bite the white cat’s rear end. Unexpectedly, the cat, as if it had precognitive abilities, acted faster and turned around to swipe at him, delivering a set of cat slaps to the dog’s head.
In a flurry of blows, Babu was beaten senseless.
Chen Lun glanced over, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes. Babu was a dog that he had fed a Mysterious Substance; it shouldn’t have been bullied by a small white cat.
At that moment, the little white cat had jumped into his lap, meowed at the cake in his hand.
Chen Lun’s gaze deepened; he smiled and placed the cake before the cat.
Biebu sniffed at it and began to lick contentedly, purring with pleasure.
