Connie said softly, lowering her head.

However, I only want to serve you in a human body, clumsy and frail as it might be, even if one day I can’t keep up with your pace and fall midway… I will persist till the end, watching you walk away.”
She managed a slight smile.
“Unless you no longer need such a me.”
Chen Lun was slightly taken aback, touched.
He detected the subtext in Connie’s words, possibly because of his repeated inquiries, she might have thought he was beginning to resent her still being a Mortal. As more members joined and Transcendents increased among the team, Connie, the Mortal, became more conspicuous.
She might have been curious and envious of Transcendents, even feeling inferior, but she ultimately still chose to remain a Mortal. Chen Lun knew that if he forcefully demanded Connie to become a Transcendent, she wouldn’t refuse.
But he respected Connie’s choice.

“Since you’re unwilling, then let it be.”
