Journey to the End of the Night Chapter 303

303: Chapter 301: Wish Pearl Demonstrates Its Power 303: Chapter 301: Wish Pearl Demonstrates Its Power Ying Xiu raised his hand to wipe the fresh blood from his forehead, his expression unchanged, but his heart was secretly alarmed.

The oppressive force of that drum shadow had been tremendous, and if he had retreated even a moment later, he feared he would have become another lost soul beneath its beat.

The name of the ghost artifact was indeed well deserved.

He took a deep breath, paying no attention to Ghost’s mockery, and glanced indifferently towards the red figure in the distance, commanding, “There’s no need for you here for the time being.

The Ghost Tears Pearl is of utmost importance—go and stabilize the situation first.”

Hongying, without any further comment, accepted the order and left.

Ghost did not intervene, instead scoffing coldly, “They say that the Heroic Spirits of the Central Netherworld are renowned across the world, but the strength of this Heroic Spirit by your side seems rather unimpressive.

I can smell the scent of the Punishment Seal on her.

How can you, the Crown Prince of the Central Netherworld, keep such a rebellious Heroic Spirit by your side and not cast her into the Eighteen Layers of Hell to be skinned and deboned, to taste the suffering for her crimes?”

Ying Xiu’s face revealed a smile whose meaning was unclear, “Indeed, why is that?”

In the midst of the furious winds, Baili An heard Fang Geyu’s call.

But before he could respond, he was gripped tightly by the massive skeleton monster, surrounded by the sudden piercing of gales and the eerie grating sounds of bones that seemed to wail.

The giant skeletal hand holding Baili An was made of disparate bones, and the morbidly pale skull heads within its grasp continuously clicked their teeth, as if laughing in unison.

The scene was extremely chilling to witness.

Baili An, controlled by that skeletal grip, was flung and smashed against the aged eaves of an attic, scattering the thin layer of snow atop it and instantly creating a deep pit in the ground.

The decrepit attic crumbled and fell apart, the wooden house shattered, and fragments of bricks and tiles spat out from the dusty eaves, turning the long-dilapidated building into ruins.

Fortunately, moments before, Baili An and Fang Geyu had managed to rescue the girls from the attic.

Otherwise, that strike would have claimed over a dozen more lives.

The sound of bones breaking could be heard as Baili An clenched his teeth and brow, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.

In front of him, the Vermilion Bird coffin materialized with willpower, standing guard before him.

Against that massive skeletal hand, the ancient coffin seemed as petite as a ceremonial tablet.

Within the claw’s gaps lingered an indelible stench of blood and malice, while phosphorescent green flames burst through the bone crevices, landing on Baili An’s clothes, scorching them with spots and blotches.

His Autumnwater Sword had been flung away earlier, and now the location of its fall was unknown.

The Vermilion Bird coffin made creaking noises under the pressure of the bone claw.

Yet curiously, despite this immense force, the coffin exhibited no sign of damage.

Even the shallow cuts made by Ghost’s sharp claws appeared to have healed at some unknown point.

Swallowing the blood rising in his throat, Baili An called out loudly, “Fang Geyu!

I am unharmed; do not come over—”

Before he could finish, dozens of explosive detonations rang out from the shoulders of the abnormal skeletal giant, setting off scintillating bursts of fire.

Following the attack, several fragments loosened from the framework and tumbled down, their surfaces charred black as coal.

Fang Geyu, standing atop a leaf of golden light, tossed down Spirit Talismans from her Qiankun Treasure Bag like a rainstorm, swirling in successive circles around the giant skeleton’s arm and detonating explosively in sync with the seals she formed with her fingers.

For a moment, colors and flames burst forth with intensity, like firework trees blossoming with numerous vivid flares.

The rolling skeletons seemed to tumble from a vast sea of corpses, plummeting to the earth.

Baili An watched clearly as Fang Geyu tossed out talismans without care, all of which were blue.

These were the blue Fire Talismans, treasures so valuable that they couldn’t be bought for any sum, only crafted by Great Talisman Masters with the most profound mastery of talismanic arts.

it could probably sustain a power like the Lihe Sect for a full twenty years.

Fang Geyu must have gone insane.

Even coming from a city like Shifang, one couldn’t sustain such a rate of loss.

Currently, the blazing fires that struck the giant bone framework even overwhelmed the eerie Ghost Fire of the whole estate.

While layer after layer of bones peeled away, the grip on Baili An did not lessen one bit.

If she continued to throw Spirit Talismans down, she might inadvertently harm Baili An.

Seeing this, Fang Geyu stopped throwing talismans and stubbornly bit her lip, circling below in the night sky.

Baili An’s vision was exceptionally sharp, and even from a distance, he could clearly see a mist of tears gathering in the bright apricot eyes of Miss Fang.

The once-arrogant and rude Miss Fang of the Fang Family now seemed somewhat vulnerable and at a loss.

Baili An was momentarily taken aback, a complex array of feelings welling in his heart.

Still more charred bones rolled down from the giant framework, the talismanic strength dissipated, and the flames extinguished.

The billowing smoke and fire were swept away by the wind, exposing more bones that fell apart, no longer sticking to the monstrous figure—they peeled away inch by inch.

But the interior of the framework revealed something other than hollow space.

Beneath the shedding bones, a faint luminescence glimmered, like emerald green amber, through which visibly flowed yin energy.

This yin energy, babbling like a stream, filled and sustained the vastness of Bone Mountain.

Baili An realized that the resentment harbored by the original owners of these bones had manifested into tangible Yin Power, congealing into this massive entity.

The bones were only a casing; their essence had been drained, clinging like a layer of armor to what must be the monster’s true body.

Fang Geyu had paid an exorbitant price but only managed to bombard this layer of bone shells; the actual yin energy remained undiminished.

Baili An’s silver sword, which primarily absorbed the Essence Blood of living spirits, seemed futile against Yin ghosts.

Although the assault of Fang Geyu’s Fire Talismans failed to truly wound the creature, it clearly enraged it.

Countless skulls within the bony mass angrily clicked, emitting sharp and furious hisses.

The bone claw gripping Baili An suddenly clenched, with the Vermilion Bird coffin bearing the brunt of the horrifying pressure between the palms.

However, the long, sharp bone claws reached from either side of Baili An, piercing towards his back as the hand tightened its grip.

The monstrous bone giant, pressing down on Baili An, rolled over him, carving a path in the ground marked by a gory trail.

Fang Geyu’s face instantaneously lost all color, her beautiful brows marked by fury.

The tears in her eyes dried up, leaving her gaze cold and lightless.

After a deep breath, a barely visible flame seemed to ignite in the depths of her pupils.

Yet before the flame could leap from her eye sockets, a diffuse mist suddenly glimmered with a gentle green light, like a distant star flickering into existence.

Then, that light, as if refracted by water, blossomed into a formidable anti-evil force, colliding into a beam that hurriedly shot forth.

Behind the beam emerged Baili An, stepping out from the coffin, his red robes adorned with droplets of blood.

The beam, like a swift arrow, returned to his side, gently twirling in dance.

Upon close inspection, it was a bead, exuberantly green.

The stern murderous intent in Fang Geyu’s eyes vanished into thin air as she cried out in astonishment, “The Wish Pearl?”
