Journey to the End of the Night Chapter 549

Chapter 549: Chapter 531: Emotion Slayer Sword Performs Admirably_2

Du Yicui scoffed coldly, resentment evident in her voice, “Like a firecracker, it explodes with just a touch, just a touch. And to think I thought the Crown Prince of Central Netherworld was as formidable as legends say. Turns out he’s just a paper tiger that falls apart when wet. By god, it took the strength of nine bulls and two tigers to get this done. But this guy, he really looks good but is useless. After it was done, he was so weak that he slept for three days straight.”

Looking at her demeanor, it seemed she was disappointed to her core; otherwise, why would she refer to the Crown Prince as ‘this guy’?

But at least it was handled; the You Dynasty and Xijian Sect could finally claim ties with her Tian Nan Sect.

Once related by blood and story, it’s not so easy to sever those ties.

After all, this was the only Crown Prince of Central Netherworld.

How could he consider not being responsible after sleeping with a pure young lady?

Baili An was awoken by the cold. The gulp of Sanqing Wine he’d drunk seemed to ignite a great fire inside him that burnt to silence before gradually leaking out a bone-chilling cold.

Since becoming a corpsee demon, Baili An hadn’t felt cold in a long time. The slight fluff floating in the air landed on his nose, tickling him, and he couldn’t help but sneeze, snapping him to full awareness.

He shifted slightly and found himself covered only by a thin garment.

Upon opening his eyes, he saw the pillow beside him as if it had been violently torn apart, bursting open with white fluff.

The sheets were crumpled as if several mischievous children had been roughhousing and having a pillow fight on the bed.

The air still carried the light fluff like snow, the tranquility entwining with a dissipating hint of intimacy.

He was alone on the bed, the soft mattress inexplicably damp, and it felt uncomfortable to lie on.

Baili An propped himself up, his garments sliding to his waist, his head throbbing as if to split open, feeling he had been heavily drunk and slept for quite a long time, yet he was strangely exhausted.

Not knowing if it was because he had slept too long, his waist and back ached, and his legs were weak and soft, as if they could hardly exert any strength.

There was also an indescribable feeling, particularly around his lower back, as if it had been hollowed out.

Baili An vaguely felt something was amiss; if it were just drunkenness, why were his clothes completely removed?

Su Jing surely shared the room with him and would not let him act so irresponsibly.

The sea demon’s vine still wrapped around his wrist. Baili An, feeling a surge of panic, reached up and pulled it. The dry vine tightened suddenly, tugging at the other end.

Baili An quickly followed the vine’s direction and looked up.

She was still dressed in her tranquil, ancient-style snow-white clothes, her hair tied up with a white band, maintaining her usual cool demeanor.

Her lashes were long, her eyes deep and clear, her tall figure sitting gracefully at the desk, the Emotion Slayer Sword unsheathed and lying in her pale palm, her sword-wiping motions inexplicably serene and beautiful, a complete beauty.

But with Baili An’s recent tug, her wrist shook slightly, the Sword Qi veering off, slicing a thin, deep red bloodline across her fingertips, against her porcelain-white skin, giving off an eerily enchanting aura.

Baili An was about to apologize when she turned to look at him, her usually cold eyes inexplicably sharper than usual, tinged with a chilling, enigmatic danger.

This danger was different from the initial threat felt at Lihe Sect; there was no murderous intent, yet it was even more unsettling.

In those dangerous eyes, was there a hint of… resentment?

Baili An’s heart inexplicably suspended at just a glance, sending shivers down his spine.

He suddenly remembered the night of the banquet; he and Su Jing both got drunk and ended up in this bedroom, but he had no memory of what happened afterward.

But alone with a woman, both drunk in the same room was already bad enough, now his clothes were mysteriously removed, and there sat a cold beauty full of silent resentment.

Baili An didn’t dare think further in that direction.

His throat dry, he reached for the quilt beside him intending to cover himself, but before his hand touched the quilt, he saw the trace on the mattress.

His body stiffened, and thinking of his aching, tired body, his mind suddenly rusted, unable to react, and he froze.

Seeing him unresponsive, Su Jing followed his gaze, her expression darkening as she slowly approached with the sword in hand.

The turbid aire around the Emotion Slayer Sword had dispersed at some point, its blade now as clear and sharp as autumn water.

Baili An thought she might decapitate him, but then he thought if she really intended to kill him, she wouldn’t wait for him to wake up.

The sword’s cold edge swept through the air, the Sword Qi cutting the sea demon’s vine into ash.

“Miss Jing…” Baili An moved his lips, but she remained silent, leaning slightly to pull up the quilt and wrapped him up like a rice dumpling.

Her expression was indiscernible, hinting at an approaching storm.

Yet she remained silent, and after cutting the demon vine, she seemed ready to leave just like that.

Baili An panicked, feeling extremely uneasy; if he let her leave with all her silent grievances, wouldn’t he be utterly despicable?

He quickly grasped a portion of Su Jing’s cool, soft wrist, his eyes unsure where to look in his haste, he widened his eyes and stared fixedly at the small ears on her head, blurting out anxiously, “Miss Jing… do you like eating carrots?!”
