Baili An’s face was a mix of green and red, and finding himself at a loss with her, he pulled a face and turned to leave.

By the rules, Yihe had the right to manage the ancient secrets of the Beiyuan Demon Emperor, and Baili An couldn’t overtly ask for the Gate’s ancient secrets.
But requesting the ancient scrolls of the Beiyuan Demon Emperor was not excessive.
The Female Demon Lord’s face fell immediately, displeasure evident in her voice, “You’re asking this for Ning Feiyan’s sake.”

The Demon Lord, lounging on the beauty couch, stared at him blankly, her eyes brimming with endless surprise and an unusually tender gaze that seemed to hold a touch of humility and secret joy.
Her small hand slowly reached out, grabbing the corner of his sleeve, dark eyes brimming with an insecurity as if fearful it was all a dream, “Are… are you actually concerned about me?”
Baili An was momentarily unable to discern whether the Demon Lord was being coy or acting, and dared not to fully commit to his words, so he diplomatically replied, “I am concerned that Your Majesty might not be able to withstand the pressure from those four Demon Clan emperors.”
The Female Demon Lord laughed, a soft and gentle smile unlike her usual flamboyant and enchanting demeanor, like a little cat that had just been stroked smooth, finding a sense of home.
Hearing him personally express his concern for her, she finally released his sleeve and slowly leaned over, hugging his arm, whispering, “Your concern for me makes me very happy.”

Presumably following the aroma, Su Jing and Yin Baishuang had also arrived, sitting at a distance, making the single table feel as if it had been divided into two separate worlds of fire and ice.
“Back quite early today, has Her Majesty grown so feeble that she let you go after just half a day?” Ning Feiyan, that disaster in human form, smiled at Baili An with her chopsticks in her mouth.
Baili An glanced at the feast on the table with a sinking feeling; he couldn’t eat it and could only watch.
The hot pot from Bashu was his favorite.
However, he found the sight of Su Jing and Yin Baishuang, two who were like fire and water on regular days, sitting together at the same table for a meal of hot pot to be exceptionally astonishing.
“Given the present troubles caused by the four Demon Emperors, the Demon Lord has been having a tough time lately. Tonight, she’s going with Zangxin to the South to observe the disaster, thus she won’t be in Mo City tonight.”

In the process of quickly searching for the location of the Gate, Yin Baishuang and Su Jing also casually flipped through a couple of books, only to discover that the pages their eyes landed on were blank sheets of paper with no visible characters.
Ning Feiyan chuckled, “The two ladies might as well save their efforts, these are secret scrolls of the Demon Clan, indecipherable to anyone who doesn’t possess the power of Mohe River.”
Su Jing looked at the few obscure and arcane strokes of ink on the snow-white pages as they etched into her heart, causing an almost painful sensation in her spirit platform, as if a black seed had buried itself into the Divine Mansion, an unshakeable presence.
Her gaze turned cold, and she put down the scroll in her hand without making a sound, looking at Baili An with implied warning in her words, “Once one transforms into a being of the Mohe River, from the day you return to the Mortal World, there’ll be no peace for you.”
Baili An was about to speak, but Yin Baishuang interrupted him with relentless sarcasm, “Even if it’s not the Mohe, he is still a corpse demon rejected by the world, and without that Mohe power, given the current state of the Righteous Immortal Sect, where even the smallest demon and spirit must be exterminated, Su Jing, the Young Sect Master, tell me, how could he live in peace?”
Su Jing’s gaze turned frosty as she calmly said, “What are you trying to say?”
