Although she was known as the Grandma of Mount Tai, that was just an illusion created by Lord Bi Xia.
She didn’t want to be disrespected, and Lord Bi Xia’s beauty was simply too stunning.
Therefore, she deliberately transformed into the image of an old grandma, so that people wouldn’t harbor any improper thoughts about her.
When Sun Wukong left, Lord Bi Xia did not stop him.
A flicker of brilliance passed through her eyes as she spoke to herself, "So this is the man that Nu Ba has taken a liking to, indeed different from ordinary immortal gods."
After speaking, Lord Bi Xia’s figure flashed and disappeared from that place.
She had just come to see Sun Wukong, and after seeing him, it was natural for her to return.
Of course, she didn’t harbor any affection for Sun Wukong; after all, she was an immortal, not a lovesick fool, and naturally would not fall in love easily.
Lord Bi Xia was merely curious about the man Nu Ba had taken a fancy to, and that was all.
They travelled from Mount Tai, heading southward.
When they arrived at a certain place, Fahai seemed somewhat dazed.
Not far away, there was a temple.
Fahai sighed, "This is Gold Mountain Temple, where I once contested in magic with the White Snake and the Green Snake. As a result, the White Snake flooded Gold Mountain, causing many living beings to die or be injured. Looking back, I bear eight parts of the responsibility for that incident, being too impulsive at the time."
His words were fitting, his face filled with guilt.
Sun Wukong patted Fahai on the shoulder but said nothing.
He remembered that old monk Chen Xuanzang had been raised there.
Thus, Sun Wukong was quite curious about Gold Mountain Temple.
They entered, and immediately, a great radiance of Buddha’s Light emerged within Gold Mountain Temple.
Some incense visitors were moved, not knowing what had happened.
They felt like a Buddha had manifested a miracle and hurriedly knelt to worship.
Sun Wukong and Fahai exchanged a glance, both noticing the smiles in each other’s eyes.
Clearly, the surge of Buddha’s Light was a response from the body of the powerful beings within Gold Mountain Temple who had sensed their arrival.
Soon, a grand monk approached.
When they saw him, the many incense visitors quickly knelt down.
Fawu, a venerable old monk who had lived for thousands of years, truly had vast magical powers.
Meeting Fawu was almost no different from meeting Buddha himself.
But today, Fawu had no time to attend to them.
His gaze settled on the faces of Sun Wukong and Fahai, and amidst the shocked expressions of the incense visitors, Fawu knelt down.
"Fawu greets the two Heavenly Venerates," he said directly.
Fawu performed a grand salute; having met Sun Wukong before, he naturally knew his identity.
As for Fahai, he was even more familiar.
Although Sun Wukong required no elaboration, Fawu even sensed that Fahai’s strength had reached the level of a Heavenly Venerate.
In the presence of the two, as a mere Celestial Immortal, how could he dare show any disrespect? He had come out to greet them at the first opportunity.
The incense visitors were all stunned, instantly realizing that the two who had come must be even more formidable immortals.
Even though they did not know the two’s true identities, it did not stop them from offering their worship.
In a rush, the crowd redirected their prayers, bowing to these two, hoping for their protection.
A Buddha to whom even a living Buddha must bow could it be Tathagata Buddha himself?
"No need for such courtesy; we were merely curious and wished to take a look at Gold Mountain Temple. You should know that Chen Xuanzang was raised and grew up here. My relationship with that old monk Xuanzang is well known, and I just wanted to see the place where he grew up," Sun Wukong explained.
Fawu nodded; he was all too aware and therefore anxious.
With his relationship severed with Sandalwood Merit Buddha and tense relations with the Buddhist Sect, what could Sun Wukong be doing here at Gold Mountain Temple, what did he want to do?
No matter how much he pondered, Fawu could not relax, naturally unable to feel at ease; he had no choice but to come out to meet them proactively.
A hand extended in friendship is not met with a fist.
Having humbled himself to this extent, the Great Sage Equalling Heaven was, after all, a man of righteousness, and surely wouldn’t strike at him, would he?
If it really came to that, the title of Great Sage Equalling Heaven would not carry the same resonance throughout the Three Realms.
Yet, Sun Wukong made it clear he wasn’t there to trouble him.
Only then did Fawu truly breathe a sigh of relief.
He said with a smile, "May I give the Great Sage a tour?"
But Sun Wukong shook his head; he glanced at the crowd and said, "Forget it, too many people are present, and I suddenly lost interest."
With that, Sun Wukong turned around and left.
Fahai followed, departing as well, vanishing from that place.
Fawu exhaled a sigh of relief; it was only then that he realized his whole body was soaked in cold sweat.
The authority of the Great Sage Equalling Heaven was indeed extraordinary.
"Great Saint, it’s fortunate you left in time. Had you stayed any longer, I fear Fawu might have wet his pants," Fahai said with a laugh.
Giving Fahai a sidelong glance, Sun Wukong asked indifferently, "Do I really seem that frightening?"
Fahai nodded vigorously, saying, "Yes."
He was very decisive, without a hint of hesitation.
Just then, a streak of light shot towards them, which Sun Wukong caught with his hand.
Afterward, Fahai caught another streak of light.
They were the wedding invitations from Tianpeng.
