Xuanzang was indeed protected by Zhu Bajie and Sand Monk, but alas, before either could react, she had taken Xuanzang away.
This naturally delighted the White-Furred Mouse Spirit who, with Xuanzang in tow, fled towards the Bottomless Cave, determined not to let Xuanzang escape this time.
If it weren’t for fear of being caught up by Sun Wukong and others, the demon would have killed Xuanzang right then and absorbed his Yang Essence.
The demon hurried back to the Bottomless Cave with Xuanzang and hid in a secret spot, then set up layers of traps and prohibitions to prevent Sun Wukong and the others from finding them.
Bear in mind that the White-Furred Mouse Spirit had been operating in the Bottomless Cave for three hundred years; she had hollowed out the entire Trap Empty Mountain, making the Bottomless Cave intricate and filled with many traps and prohibitions.
With preparations in place this time, she believed that Sun Wukong and his companions would certainly not be able to find their way out so quickly.
Previously, when she first captured Xuanzang, she hadn’t expected Sun Wukong and the others to find them so rapidly.
Consequently, unguarded, she had allowed Xuanzang to be rescued and had been toyed with and severely injured by Sun Wukong.
But this time, she was prepared, deliberately concealing her presence, which would make it much harder for Sun Wukong and his companions to subdue the demon and find Xuanzang.
The White-Furred Mouse Spirit brought Xuanzang into a chamber. It was not a large space but was elegantly arranged. The demon first laid Xuanzang on the bed.
Soon after, Xuanzang slowly opened his eyes, surprised and asking, "Where am I, Benefactor?"
The White-Furred Mouse Spirit approached with a smile and sat down beside him, saying, "Xuanzang brother, you are now at home."
Only then did Xuanzang notice the demon, panicked and said, "It’s you, the demon, again?"
"Who else could it be?" The White-Furred Mouse Spirit said with a smile, "Brother Xuanzang, I heard you were sick, and it pained me dearly. Let me check to see if you’re better yet."
While speaking, the White-Furred Mouse Spirit reached out to frantically grope Xuanzang’s body.
Xuanzang sat cross-legged, his expression calm, without a trace of panic.
"Amitabha Buddha, demon, your persistent captures will only anger my disciples!"
"Brother Xuanzang, do you think I’m afraid of your disciples?"
The White-Furred Mouse Spirit scoffed and then added, "Don’t even imagine escaping from here! Nor should you think of Universal Salvation. I have sealed your mana!"
After testing his powers, Xuanzang indeed found that he could no longer use them.
Yet, even so, Xuanzang wasn’t worried. He chanted the Buddhist scriptures calmly as ever.
"Brother Xuanzang," said the White-Furred Mouse Spirit with a cold laugh, "I have gone through great effort to capture you, and this time I absolutely won’t allow anyone to ruin my plans. So you might as well give up!"
Xuanzang stopped chanting the scriptures, opened his eyes, and looked at the White-Furred Mouse Spirit, saying, "Lady Benefactor, why do you seek death? You know well that by doing this, my disciples, as well as the celestial Immortals and Buddhas, will not let you succeed!"
"Of course I know the Immortals and Buddhas want you to go to the Western Heaven to seek scriptures, but I also believe in fate!"
The White-Furred Mouse Spirit said with a smile, "They say ’fate brings people together over a thousand miles.’ How can I miss such a Heaven-sent matrimony? Why go against fate, brother Xuanzang? Better to just accept me!"
Upon saying that, the White-Furred Mouse Spirit suddenly pounced on Xuanzang.
Xuanzang couldn’t dodge in time and was pinned down by the White-Furred Mouse Spirit to the bed, her soft body pressing down on him.
Her beautiful face almost touching his, with warm breaths continuously spraying onto Xuanzang’s face. Xuanzang struggled to push away the White-Furred Mouse Spirit, but without his mana, he couldn’t move her.
Feeling Xuanzang’s feeble efforts, the White-Furred Mouse Spirit laughed softly.
"Brother Xuanzang, stop resisting. Wouldn’t it be better to just lie down and enjoy? I promise to make you comfortable," she said, as she leaned closer to Xuanzang.
