Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die! Chapter 469

However, this was just a prologue. The aliens that had been lured onto the train by the lights hadn’t directly attacked the train before, but after the carriage was breached, those aliens seemed to be truly awakened by the light, starting to furiously smash the windows!

The relatively sturdy windows didn’t hold up long against the aliens’ assault. In a matter of seconds, the windows of several carriages were simultaneously shattered!

The aliens frantically tore at the scroll props of Weiwei’s parents, resembling countless grotesque creatures struggling crazily as if through a thin film, a sight both shocking and chilling, yet they couldn’t tear through the props.

The second carriage was much steadier because there was a layer of metal on the outside. Other than the hit just now, the current group of aliens couldn’t tear through the metal, only leaving some scratch marks on the outside.

In these two carriages, the players were still relatively calm and weren’t thrown into complete disarray by the horde of different species. The only one truly frightened was Dr. Deng, who crouched behind Xu Huo, ceaselessly calling out to Lawrence Lee, trying to curry favor through the divide and hoping he would lend a hand.

Weiwei sneered, "Lawrence Lee is notorious for killing based on his mood, do you think he’ll help you? You’re lucky if he doesn’t come out to kill you because you’re too noisy!"

However, to everyone’s surprise, Lawrence Lee did take action. In the blink of an eye, all the raucous, howling aliens fell silent, replaced by a torrential downpour of liquid striking the scrolls, tinting everything red as seen from the inside of the carriage!

"Thank you! Thank you!" Dr. Deng shouted gratefully.

"Deliberately luring the aliens here only to kill them, isn’t that a waste of effort?" Weiwei held back for a moment before speaking.

What she wanted to say was also what everyone else was thinking, but no one dared to voice it openly.

"Mr. Lee, there’s no need to keep testing, right?" In the second carriage, one of the escort personnel with a tattoo on his neck stepped forward and addressed the front of the train, "No matter how many aliens you bring, you won’t be able to deplete our Defense Props. Backed by Stellar Medical, we transport staff have an endless supply of props."

After he finished speaking, he waited for Lawrence Lee to reply, but half a minute passed without anyone responding.

Probably feeling a bit awkward, the tattooed man raised his voice again, "Why not settle this face-to-face? It would save everyone’s time!"

The response he got was still silence.

"Pfft!" Weiwei laughed mockingly, drawing the tattooed man’s cold gaze. As their eyes met, in the next moment, the tattooed man abruptly reached out and grasped in front of his face, creating a smoky insect from nothing and crushing it, then sneered as he extended his hand toward Weiwei...

"I think we all can calm down a bit. Don’t you want to know Lawrence Lee’s motives?" Xu Huo spoke quickly, also causing the tattooed man who was about to deal with him to pause.

"I can guess," Xu Huo said with a faint smile, "If his objective was your personal belongings, there’d be no need to bring in the aliens. Normal aliens wouldn’t be a match for you anyway, and it’s not like he lacks the ability to deplete your strength in advance."

"Makes sense," Weiwei chimed in from the side, "So why did he come? To kill?"

"It might be for the aliens," Xu Huo said.

"For the aliens?" Everyone was puzzled, only Dr. Deng asked, "Do aliens have any value?"

"It can’t just be for fun," Weiwei joined the conversation.

"Of course not," Xu Huo said, "Turning on the lights and music are all means to attract aliens. He must be looking for a certain type of alien."

Having the empty car alone wouldn’t attract too many Aliens. In fact, they had become bait, that much was certain, but what Lawrence Lee’s true intentions were, he just mentioned them in passing. It was better if he could calm both groups of people.

"What kind of Aliens?" the tattooed man pressed.

"I don’t know about that." Xu Huo said, "If we deduce based on common sense, it should relate to his legs. After all, once someone’s power has reached a certain level, no good Defense Prop or special feature is of much significance."

"Is there a method on the Aliens’ bodies to treat the sequelae of evolution?" Dr. Deng expressed doubt, "I’ve never heard of such a thing."

"If a player with sequelae is a piece of bread that has rotted halfway, then an Alien is like the whole moldy and stinky loaf, full of viruses. The difficulty of using them for research is very high, and their value is very low, let alone using them to treat diseases or save people!"

This was quite convincing, and the transportation personnel from Stellar Medical who knew a bit about medicine agreed more with Dr. Deng’s words.

"There’s no need to talk so much with him." The player by the coffin said to the tattooed man.

"Although I’ve never studied medicine, don’t you think the Alien’s limbs and the sequelae of evolution look somewhat similar?"

Xu Huo spoke slowly, "The data in the game shows that the lifespan of Aliens is very short. That’s because their whole bodies are full of toxins, but after they become Alien, some of their genes mutate, displaying animalistic limbs that are exceptionally robust."

"Their limbs aren’t covered in a lot of muscle either."

He was referring to the kind of Aliens they encountered on the first inspection train, with long and thin limbs, but no lack of strength and speed.

"It sounds quite reasonable," Weiwei said with her chin propped up. "But Uncle, Aliens present those features as a result of degeneration and will die soon. Can they really be used for humans?"

"That won’t do, that won’t do. If your theory were feasible, someone would surely have tried it already." Dr. Deng’s framework of knowledge felt attacked, and he gestured dismissively with his hands.

At this point, Xu Huo utilized the craft of a schemer, "If Aliens were completely useless, why would the Game Government let them occupy some game zones? Just for a bit of economic value? Or only to serve as random dungeons?"

"Not every random dungeon is in the Alien Species World," said Weiwei, seemingly persuaded.

Xu Huo didn’t care whether they believed him or not; he just wanted to shift the focus onto the Aliens. If he could tag them with "the thing Lawrence Lee was determined to find," the truthfulness of his words wouldn’t be so important.

"You’ve got me curious now," Weiwei’s mother said with a smile to everyone after a brief silence. "Since there aren’t many people left on the train anyway, why don’t we just wait and see?"

Everyone tacitly agreed to her suggestion and returned to their places.

Soon, the air was again disturbed with currents, as if pushing out a wave of turbulence from nowhere.

In ten seconds or so, another horde of Aliens ran wildly toward the train from afar, their thunderous noise like a stampede of horses!

"Could it be that you really predicted correctly?" Dr. Deng leaned close to the scroll in an attempt to see the situation outside clearly, but at that moment, Weiwei’s mother said, "I’m afraid my Defense Prop won’t be able to hold off so many Aliens."

Xu Huo also didn’t have a Defense Prop that could cover such a large area, so he said to the tattooed man, "Can we get into your compartment?"

The tattooed man looked back at the man holding the coffin, who nodded, and only then did he let Xu Huo and Dr. Deng enter.
