Kill the Sun Chapter 872

Nick had to activate and deactivate the spatial fixture when the flow of magma didn't move in the desired direction.

Activating it cost a lot of energy, but Piercing Heaven had so much Zephyx that it didn't matter.

It took Nick five months to move the base to its destination.

In the end, he fixed it in place about 20 kilometers below the underground city.

For now, he kept the base running by using the enormous storage of Zephyx.

Activating the Zephyx generator this close to the city could be troublesome.

The Zephyx generator created Zephyx by stealing potential from life itself.

If left unchecked, it would cause sickness and death inside the underground city.

Luckily, the base didn't need a lot of Zephyx to operate, and the underground city produced enough Zephyx to meet its needs.

After fixing the base in place, Nick started the process of creating a long corridor.

The underground city could make materials treated with Pure Energy, but they were not yet advanced enough to produce materials that could resist the power of Fallen.

But in just a couple of decades, this would change.

After all, Nick had used the Sanctuary to transport many machines from Deep Core Base to the underground city.

The researchers only needed to find ways to properly use the machines and to give them the energy they needed.

For now, Nick had to create his own materials.

Creating the materials needed for such a long corridor and building it took several weeks.

After these weeks were up, Nick had created a long shaft that led from the most secure place of the underground city to Piercing Heaven Base.

The entrance to the shaft was in a place that only Protectors had access to, and only if they had proven to be trustworthy.

Nick told Samar and Aria about Piercing Heaven Base and showed it to them.

Since the city now had access to several machines created by the Enlightened Ones, the two of them already had Seeds of their own.

Nick granted them authority that was only second to the Emperor.

Everyone else wouldn't get access, and while the Protectors could see the entrance to Piercing Heaven Base, they weren't allowed to enter.

Samar or Aria needed to accompany them.

Thanks to their Seeds, Samar and Aria could learn about Piercing Heaven Base on their own.

They didn't need Nick to show them around.

When they saw the endless storage of Zephyx, they had to take deep breaths.

This would solve their Zephyx needs for centuries!

With this much Zephyx, none of the Experts needed to wait anymore to become Specialists!

Finally, Nick led them to the Ice Maiden.

The door opened, and the three of them entered.

"We arrived?" the Ice Maiden asked.

"Piercing Heaven Base is now connected to the underground city," Nick said. "These are the two leaders of the underground city, and they will be dealing with your food supply from now on."

The Ice Maiden sighed. "I don't really care about the food," she said. "That was just an act since we are supposed to keep our origins secret."

"That doesn't matter," Nick answered. "You are a great source of growth for our Protectors, and the Zephyx stored in Piercing Heaven Base is also of significant importance. Even if you didn't ask for food, I would have moved the base regardless."

The Ice Maiden just nodded.

"You may come here whenever you want," Nick told Samar and Aria. "The Ice Maiden is not dangerous."

The two of them were a bit unsure about these words.

After all, this was a Peak Adversary.

However, since it was Nick who told them, they believed him.

"I will remain here until I have gathered all of the knowledge," Nick said. "You two may come and go as you please since you know me, but I don't want anyone else to come here until I am gone."

"Understood," Samar said before leaving the Containment Unit.

"I will remain here for my daily dose of Zephyx," Aria said, sitting down.

Nick sat down a distance away from Aria.

The next moment, freezing air gathered around the Ice Maiden before gently moving towards Aria.

Aria's body started to freeze on the surface, and she had to take a deep breath.

Freezing felt very similar to burning.

That was because freezing and burning both caused damage in a similar way.

Burning denatured a body's natural composition, turning one chemical element into another.

Freezing did something similar. While it wasn't denaturing the chemical elements, it ruined cells.

In both cases, the cells would no longer be usable.

However, as an experienced Extractor, Aria could deal with the pain.

This was just another workday for her.

Meanwhile, Nick took out a small device and connected it with his mind.

"Tell me about the energies," Nick said, activating the device.

This device was an information storage device, and if Nick learned anything, the device would learn it as well.

, he wouldn't need to transcribe the information manually.

Of course, this device could only be created if one knew a lot about engineering and biology, which Nick now did.

"Then, I will start with Prephyx and Zephyx," the Ice Maiden said.

As the Ice Maiden started to tell Nick about Prephyx and Zephyx, Aria left the Containment Unit.

She had already gotten her fill of Zephyx, and she would be back the next day.

Aria came and went several times as Nick learned from the Ice Maiden.

Most of what the Ice Maiden said about Prephyx and Zephyx was something Nick already knew.

Nick knew a considerable amount about these kinds of energies.

However, after just a couple of weeks, the Ice Maiden started to talk about aspects of these two kinds of energies that were unknown to Nick.

For example, the creation of Prephyx from Star Energy.

Humanity didn't create Prephyx since there was no point in it.

Prephyx was essentially trash, and their atmosphere was flooded with it.

However, knowing how to make Prephyx like that would explain many other things.
