Knights and Magic Wand Chapter 217

217: Chapter 116 Wing Helmet_2 217: Chapter 116 Wing Helmet_2 What met his eyes was the polished silvery steel texture,

its fitted rim engraved with delicate iris reliefs, and even the longitudinally inlaid top was distinctively integrated with the shape of a sharpened sword.

The raised faceted grille visor on either side above the mask’s ear pivots, the paired winged embellishments soared high.

Staring at the Gothic-style face helm nestled in the box, Leon was amazed as he took it out.

The cool wing helmet of the knight evoked an indescribable sense of déjà vu.

Holding it in his hands for a closer look, he found that the joint neck guard’s position beneath the helmet was identical to that of the Baron Snake Carving Helmet.

Clearly, this was prepared to match the plate armor, replacing the original helmet.

Olivia watched him anxiously, “You said you hated that Kantadar noble’s serpent decoration, but my father doesn’t have time to modify that helmet for you now, so, I simply went to the city to find an armor forger and had a new one made…

Does it look like what you wanted?”

Of course, I like it!” Leon exclaimed in admiration, delighted with the handsome wing helmet in his hand, he vigorously nodded at the girl, “I absolutely love this design.”

Not to mention, whatever gift Olivia gave, he would adore it.

Moreover, this was the style he had coveted in his past life, the surprise feeling was just like coming home, opening the door, and seeing his girlfriend holding a big box of his favorite items as a birthday gift.

Leon couldn’t wait to flip the wing helmet over and place it on his head.

After properly securing the Gothic visor, it indeed fit very well, surprisingly lighter even than Dawson’s Coiled Serpent Helmet.

Though he hadn’t put on the helmet liner yet, Leon still felt it was very suited to his head shape, and he could breathe smoothly through the visor’s grille gaps.

“It’s very thoughtful of you to remember the style I wanted until now.

I think I only mentioned it once in front of you, right?

When I asked Uncle Bryan how to remove that snake carving,” Leon said through the helmet, his voice hollow with emotion.

I just mentioned the style of the feathered ornament, and the master forger from the Farolis Guild said he had made similar styles of knight helmets,” Olivia, seeing Leon’s genuine joy, relieved that it did not seem feigned.

She then suggested, “I tried fitting your plate armor neck guard earlier, and it fits without any issues, but just in case, do you want to try on the full armor now?”

Leon nodded, removed the wing helmet, and placed it on the table.

With Olivia’s help, he started donning the armor.

After wearing the armor lining and chain armor, he covered his body with the well-maintained, stunning silver armor parts, carefully connecting them, and lastly, with the helmet liner on, Leon seated himself in front of a stool.

Olivia wrapped her hands around Leon’s neck, fastening the neck guard, then she held up the knight wing helmet, helping him wear it.

Leon twisted his neck, tilting his head from side to side.

Maybe it was just psychological, but it felt much more comfortable than Dawson’s serpent helmet.

Standing up, he drew his sword from beside him and stepped back a few paces, swinging it twice, performing a few long sword postures.

“How’s that?” Leon, wearing the wing helmet like a big boy with a new toy, turned his head and asked his lover through the narrow visor, proudly.

Gazing at the silver-armored knight before her, crowned with a feather helmet, Olivia was briefly stunned, then quickly coming to her senses, she nodded and replied eagerly, “Very gallant!…

Leon paused, lowering his sword posture and said awkwardly, “You remember that word?”

He had indeed asked with such pride the first time he wore knight armor in front of her.

“Isn’t that a compliment?” asked the girl, blinking, thinking it was a dialect from Seryan.

“Haha, you could say that,” Leon conceded, sheathing the long sword and took off the helmet to cradle it in his hands.

He then turned to the table, “So, what’s in these two cases?”

“These are gifts for Azeryan and Lokhak,” Olivia said as she opened them.

Inside lay two sets of components that also looked like ornaments designed to be attached to plate armor helmets.

One was an upright arcing plate with a small support bracket below, topped with a row of neatly imposing horse mane plumes.

The other was much more traditional, a commonly seen ostrich feather ornament, with a base for fixing atop the helmet.

“Since you saved me, I’ve been at a loss for what gifts to give you to express my gratitude.

When I saw through the window the helmets of that big group of knights who came to Selva were adorned, I simply ordered these,”

Olivia pointed to the horse mane and said, “This one is for Lokhak; the armor forger recommended this kind of decoration to match his warhorse emblem.

But Azeryan’s emblem is too complex.

I wasn’t sure what ornament could symbolize it, so I went with the more common ostrich feather.”

Leon couldn’t help but sigh, “You didn’t spend all the money you got last time on gifts for us, did you?”

The girl hesitated, her eyes darting away guiltily, “Not all of it, there’s some left.”

Leon shook his head; surely, he thought, the girl must have even spent her own money, as those two ornaments weren’t cheap, not to mention a specially ordered noble knight wing helmet for himself.

However, picking up the unique horse mane plume, Leon looked it over, marveling – the piece quite resembled the “brush” ornamentation of Roman officers’ helmets from a previous era, quite handsome and fitting for Lokhak’s warhorse crest.
