Close to the riverbank, many beasts that looked quite different from the other tribes had gathered.
It was Ji Nuan’s first time seeing a tribe with so many cubs.
These beasts were generally shorter and thinner than the usual ones Ji Nuan had seen, but their skin was very fair, and they looked quite refined.
They were timid, though. When they met the gaze of beasts from other tribes, their eyes would turn red, making them look like startled little bunnies.
"Ji Nuan, you’re up so early?" Ge Xing shouted from behind her. Ji Nuan turned around and barely managed to hold back her laughter.
Chief Ge Xing, who usually took great care of his golden hair, always making it meticulous and smooth to the point Ji Nuan could only feel envious.
But today, Uncle Ge Xing had shown up with a rare sight of unkempt hair. With sleepy eyes, he looked so amusing that Ji Nuan was strongly tempted to take a picture of him.

Ji Nuan picked up the chubby cub and walked back outside the tent. She fetched water from the wooden bucket to wash herself, then helped the cub clean his teeth and claws before starting a fire to prepare breakfast.
"Hahaha~ We’ll take this female for our Tumang Tribe, I’ll trade for her with a beast skin!" A loud commotion came from not far off by the river, attracting Ji Nuan’s attention.
Most importantly, the raucous voice sounded eerily familiar to her. It seemed to be Lu Te, the sleazy Clan Leader of the Tumang Tribe.
