But that is merely an illusion.
Many things are more terrifying than death, such as Brian’s live anatomical teaching process.
Usually, the "material" for the dissection is the student themselves.
Under the close one-on-one teaching of Brian, a highly skilled anatomy instructor, the student, an old hunchback, deeply understood his own body structure for the first time, realizing that a person won’t die immediately even if dismembered into many pieces.
The human body is fragile yet resilient.
To thank Brian, his teacher, he begged Brian to pause the teaching to spend some time listening to the story of his daughter, who had a good appetite.

It was a peculiar disease: hunger that could never be satisfied.
Even after eating until her stomach ballooned like a ball, she still felt hungry and couldn’t stop eating, even though she nearly burst several times.
The man was not wealthy.
He spent all his possessions to seek treatment for his daughter in the city, but it did not alleviate her suffering. The hospitals, astounded by this "Gluttony" that differed from anorexia, even advised the man to entrust them with the care of his daughter.
By care, they meant to tie her up and continuously draw her blood for research.
The man was furious. He desperately took his daughter back home, ready to wait for death to come, so the entire family could be together.
At that point, a company called Black Light Biotechnology approached him, explaining that his daughter suffered from a disease called cannibalism.
It was an unpublished and extremely rare disease.
The patient lacked certain special components in the body, which could only be satisfied by eating human flesh.
This clearly sounded ridiculous.
But the man believed it.
To preserve the only love he had left in the world, he lured a homeless man back home, turned him into hamburgers, and fed them to his daughter, who was tied up and constantly hungry.
Miraculously, after eating, his daughter really stopped crying out in hunger.
From that day on, he began hunting.
All this continued until the second arrival of the Blood Moon brought new changes: his daughter gained exaggerated speed, highly sensitive smell for certain odors, and became more bloodthirsty.
Seven disappearances occurred consecutively around them.
Only when the old hunchback saw the pile of special "human fertilizer" in his daughter’s room did he realize that his daughter had become a monster, a predator that actively sought prey.
His small reserve of ’food’ couldn’t satisfy this drastically altered new daughter.
Although she did not harm him, she furiously attacked nearby humans.
While no one suspected a small girl yet, as the victims increased, exposure was only a matter of time.
While he didn’t know how to handle his daughter’s situation, Black Light Technology, the previous company, appeared again. They spent manpower to excavate the current underground space and took his daughter away for a while.
When they brought his daughter back.
His daughter finally returned to her previous appetite and could communicate again, the only problem being that, at fixed times, she still couldn’t resist the urge to hunt.
But with his daughter able to communicate, there were no further incidents of attacking people near their residence.
His daughter also "passed away."

Brian was somewhat surprised.
There were two points that surprised him.
One was that the company Black Light, wasn’t just established a few years ago, as Mycroft had thought, but had been around for over thirty years, albeit under a slightly different name than Mycroft knew.
This meant that there was another influence hidden within the NW organization.
Susan had never told Brian about this.
It wasn’t known whether she was also unaware or if these matters were inconvenient to disclose.
Based on Brian’s understanding of Susan, it was likely the former.
Susan had revealed that there were also breeding and bio-tech research on Mutants within NW, which she found repugnant, but she wasn’t very detailed.
She had a straightforward personality.
If she didn’t like something, she wouldn’t intentionally learn more about it.
The other point that surprised Brian was the question he asked.
Cannibalism was complete nonsense.
What rubbish about trace elements, as most human tissues, after being cooked, aren’t much different from chicken, duck, or fish meat, perhaps only differing in texture.
This texture generally depends on the animal’s body structure and dietary habits.
For instance, the meat of herbivores generally tastes better than that of carnivores, while that ofAppgetarian’s meat is not only toxic but also foul-smelling.
