Vasily’s obsession: to find the last murderer of his uncle’s family.
Gift One: 135 units of Gift Energy.
Gift Two: 35 units of Gift Energy + Fake Ghoul Body.
Gift Three: 1 unit of Gift Energy + Second Brain.
At the end of his obsession, Vasily had intended to use police resources to find the last murderer’s portrait and some information: a white male in his forties, with a general’s belly and a small mustache.
According to the information left by Vasily, this guy was named Hedra Tridway, a thug who treated prison like dining out and had been jailed several times for robbery and theft. Moreover, he had assaulted an unlucky female proprietor. However, due to the bail system, he hadn’t remained in prison and was currently missing.
Vasily had tracked Hedra and could confirm that the other man was still alive.
Hedra did not seem like a good person.
His body was covered in tattoos, but the most conspicuous was on his chest.
There he had a tattoo of Jesus on the cross.
Probably done when he was young, it had now been distorted by fat, making it look less like Jesus’ suffering and more like Jesus’s hands fixed on the cross, reaching forward for a hug...
Anyway, the guy was quite recognizable and paying money might easily uncover clues.
As for why Vasily couldn’t find him, it was simply a matter of identity.
Based on his previous description, Vasily had lived a very suppressed childhood and, although he had received some education, he wasn’t good at socializing due to his distinctiveness and had no exposure to the dark world.
Experiences shape thought.
These experiences probably made Vasily unsure of how to utilize his abilities effectively.
Of course, there might be some reasons unknown to Brian.
None of that matters though.
Brian just needed to know that the difficulty of completing this obsession wasn’t high.
This was a high-quality obsession.
After estimating the difficulty of the obsession, Brian immediately focused on Vasily’s two gifted talents.
He was really envious of Vasily’s talent for immortality.
It would be a great supplement to his own survival.
Moreover, by the name of the talent in Gift Three, it was apparently the one that Brian valued in Vasily.
Brian suddenly shivered.
This shiver was not the creepy unease of a danger warning, nor was it due to feeling cold. It was more like the refreshing shiver of diving into cool water on a hot summer day.
It was truly quite refreshing.
Brian looked around in surprise, saw nothing, and then touched his pitted upper body.
His upper body’s clothing had been almost completely corroded by the black mist Vasily had expelled earlier, leaving large areas of chest muscle exposed, but those muscles felt warm, with no change in temperature.
"It’s not a change in bodily temperature, then that cool and joyful feeling just now..."
Brian suddenly thought of a possibility.
With a thought, he checked his Spiritual Strength in the Supercomputer Perception Talent.
He saw that his original 1.3 had completely transformed into 1.4, once again matching his physical strength.
Brian looked unsurprised.
However, the transformation in spirit wasn’t as noticeable as the change from physical 1.3 to 1.4.
In fact, Brian noticed no other changes in himself apart from that comfortable shiver.
This transformation was even less notable than his previous ones from 1.1 to 1.2, or from 1.2 to 1.3.
"Could it be because my original Spiritual Strength was high enough that I didn’t feel a significant change?"
After pondering for a moment.
Without any theoretical basis, Brian didn’t dwell on this any longer.
He wasn’t one to split hairs.
If something is unclear, he’d leave it be.
A breakthrough was, after all, a good thing.
Pushing aside scattered thoughts, Brian refocused on Vasily’s Gift Talents.
Vasily’s Gift Talents had two.
Brian unexpectedly discovered that the descriptions of these two talents differed somewhat from the previous Obsession Gift Talents.
