Her fingers continued to run on his hair and saw his eyelids droop in relaxation. Shen Yi hummed before moving closer to her. He supposed there could be a better way to wake up though he couldn’t really complain about this sudden show of affection from his wife. Knowing that he was indeed awake and not dreaming about her again, he effortlessly wrapped his arm around her waist and snuggled her closer.
“Morning, my sleepyhead. Wakey, wakey.” Lu Xinyi said with a smile, her hand still messing up his hair.
Shen Yi slowly blinked, moving his arm to protect his eyes from the sudden brightness coming outside their window. Did he oversleep? It was usually him who wakes up first before Xinxin.
“What time is it?”
“Past seven. You overslept.” Lu Xinyi replied. It was so unusual for Shen Yi not to be on time.
Shen Yi groaned. Was he really that tired that his body clock refused to wake him up? Thankfully, he still had enough time to prepare for his video conference with some business partners at ten this morning.
“Will you be alright if I leave you alone today? I need some work to do,” he asked Lu Xinyi.
Lu Xinyi pushed him at the other side of the bed so she could lay down beside him. Once he made enough space, she tackled him with a laugh and wrapped her arms around his torso.
“I’ll be fine. I’ll take Yang Liqing with me to do some shopping,” she assured her. With Shen Yi being busy with his work, she would be able to make time to visit a doctor.
“Shopping again?” It’s not like Lu Xinyi could reach her credit limit. The cards he gave her had never maxed out since they were married. If there’s something he noticed, her purchases consisted of buying takeout meals or from their local pizza. The last time she used her card was when she took Xiao Lan and the twins with her.
“What? Is my piggy bank afraid I’ll leave a lot of debts for him to pay?” Lu Xinyi grinned, rubbing his chest which successfully distracted him.
“Lu Xinyi…” Shen Yi warned her. His hand reached for her thigh and caressed it. The little minx was trying to seduce him. “Don’t start something you cannot finish.”
At the beginning of the marriage, Lu Xinyi had been shy about touching him, especially during their intimate moments. She was very careful and hesitant to touch him. She felt as if dealing with a small animal or a fragile ancient treasure that any wrong move would cause her to fail miserably.
Now, the little demoness was able to drive him insane with just a simple touch. Confident that he would not ignore her. Whatever Yuan Jin and Lu Xiulan taught her was exceptionally good. They were able to draw out this side of Xinxin much to his liking.
“Ah, but here I thought you’ll gladly finish it.” She pouted, but her hands resumed on teasing him, moving from his chest up to his shoulders to push him away. She sat up and pushed the covers away. “Anyway, what do you want for breakfast?”
“You.” Shen Yi replied nonchalantly. Lu Xinyi stared at him for a long time before grabbing a pillow and tried to suffocate him with it.
“You pervert! You shameless pervert!” she yelled at him.
If Shen Yi was one who rolls his eyes, he probably did it. Wasn’t she the one who was trying to seduce him earlier?
Shen Yi fought hard and tried to push the pillow away from his face. “Stop it, Xinxin! Are you trying to kill me? What happens to our ’till death do us part’ if you’re trying to kill me now?”
“I was talking about food! Why do you always have to take it wrongly?” Lu Xinyi huffed, threw the pillow on his face, and crossed her arms on her chest.
“Get your mind out of the gutter, woman. As much as I would like a quickie with you, I need to leave early.” Shen Yi defended himself. It was almost comical how fast Lu Xinyi’s cheeks turned bright red from his words. What happened to the little demoness who was teasing him earlier?
“You…” but she was lost for words. She really couldn’t beat Shen Yi’s shamelessness.
Shen Yi slipped out from the bed and took a clean towel from the closet. He eyed at his wife who was still sitting on their bed with a flushed face.
“Sorry, I can’t have breakfast with you, but I’ll bring food for lunch to compensate,” he reassured her.
Lu Xinyi’s gaze went back to him, a slow smile teasing her lips. “If you think you can bribe me with food so I can forgive you, you’re gravely mistaken.”
“…”
Silence followed. Both of them stared at each other. Shen Yi was the one who broke the silence. He exaggeratedly sighed and shook his head.
“If that’s what you want, then I guess…”
He turned back so he could take a shower, but Lu Xinyi’s voice stopped him. He couldn’t stop the grin that spread across his lips. He knew her well; she could not say no to food especially if it’s good and free.
“No, wait!” Lu Xinyi mentally kicked herself. She just realized her husband had just played her. Then again, how could she deny her rumbling tummy if it was really hungry? “Can you bring my favorites, please? And oh, don’t forget my cheesecake!”
