Much to Shen Yi’s surprise, the twins’ behavior returned to normal the next day which was the first day of his wife’s absence. He knew that they were trying their best not to cry, especially Little Yuyan who hadn’t uttered a single word since she woke up that morning.
The night before was disastrous for Shen Yi as he came home after dropping Lu Xinyi at the airport and found the twins wailing nonstop at home. Neither he nor Shen Xue was able to make them stop, and it took him three long hours before they fell asleep from crying.
“Daddy?” Shen Zichen appeared in his study in the middle of his work.
“What is it, Zichen?” Shen Yi asked calmly, glancing over his files and at the boy standing in the doorway.
“You aren’t leaving for work, Daddy?”
By this time, Shen Zichen knew that his father should have left for work; and yet he was still in his home clothes, burying his head on his work alone in his study.
“Mommy did say I’ll be staying with you, didn’t she? I won’t be going away for business trips anytime soon.” Shen Yi reminded the boy.
“Oh…” The little boy paused as he pondered if he should ask his father. “Then, can we sleep in your room tonight?”
“If you wish. Go and tell your sister you’ll be staying in our room until Mommy comes back.”
When the little boy had left the room, Shen Yi sighed softly. He found himself sighing a lot since Lu Xinyi left. If he was missing his wife, what more the twins?
One month. He only got one month to remove all existing threats against him and his wife. This would be the perfect time for him and Li Yuren to find Feng Zexian’s whereabouts.
The news of the death of Chairman Sun was soon publicized. The stocks of the Sun Corporation instantly crashed down. Everyone guessed that the company was about to sink as Lu Xinyi gave the deadly blow when she sold all of her shares to the elusive young master of the Ye family.

“I’ve already called Zhao Xi.” Qiao He told him once they arrived back at Imperial Residences.
Zhao Xi was a volunteer and self-proclaimed resident doctor of the Shen family aside from Shen Yi’s mother. She was assigned to look after the wellbeing of Lu Xinyi and the twins, which she willingly agreed to.
Shen Yi was feeling helpless at the moment. When he found himself faced with an ill child, he had no idea how to proceed. Usually, it was his wife who took care of the twins whenever they got sick.
