Little Sorcerer, Divine Doctor Chapter 15

Yun Sheng scraped off the dirty fur of the Two-headed Beast and saw its true form; it was a Double-headed Dog.

Canine Demon Beasts are not uncommon, but this Double-headed Dog seemed different from regular Canine breeds.

Now is not the time to guess what breed this Double-headed Dog might be.

Yun Sheng collected her thoughts, and realized that the first surgery she was performing on Wuji Continent was not an easy one: no modern medical equipment, no assistants, and no post-surgery hemostasis measures available.

However, she did not lose confidence. At least the condition of this Double-headed Dog in front of her wasn't the worst.

In the womb, the Double-headed Dog had incomplete development; it had two heads sharing one body. Fortunately, its heart and other organs had developed well, which undoubtedly increased the chance of the Double-headed Dog surviving.

The only issue was that the left skull of the Double-headed Dog had completely necrotized and must be removed. Even if the removal was successful, its head would be somewhat crooked afterward.

The biggest difficulty of the surgery was that the left and right skulls of the Double-headed Dog were connected. Removing the left skull could likely damage the large arteries in its neck.

If this were the modern days, hemorrhaging could be managed by transfusion. But on Wuji Continent, where could she find a source of blood and transfusion equipment?

Moreover, her Shennong's Eyes had just advanced to the First Level. She could only minutely identify the blood vessels on the surface of the muscles, unable to clearly identify the tiny nerves deep inside the muscles. Her only choice was to gamble on it now.

Yun Sheng calculated the time; she could not delay any longer, otherwise, the situation would become even more dangerous once the anesthesia wore off.

She decisively sliced open the Double-headed Dog's neck fur.

The sharp scalpel merely touched the skin, and sliced through it rapidly like cutting through cloth.

The scalpel skillfully avoided the many nerves, bypassed the bright red blood vessels, and circled around the lymphatic tissue.

Under the lamplight, Yun Sheng's movements were fluid, hardly resembling someone performing a life-and-death separation surgery, but more like a pianist freely improvising on stage.

Yanling's Hand and the First Level of Shennong's Eyes were utilized to their fullest extent by Yun Sheng; she found the connective cartilage of the left skull of the Double-headed Dog.

After removing the necrotic muscles, all that was left was to remove the extra malformed dog head. Yun Sheng's scalpel passed through the final layer of soft membrane.

Suddenly, her scalpel sliced through, and a hidden blood vessel was cut.

Blood instantly gushed out.

Yun Sheng's hand did not stop, as she quickly took out the thinnest Bone Needle and swiftly pricked several places around it.

The blood, miraculously, stopped.

After the bleeding stopped, Yun Sheng was still highly tense. The quick hemostasis method of Medical Soul Divine Needle could only maintain for a short while; she had to complete the surgery immediately.

The excision was successful, stitched up with prepared Beast Bone Needle and Beast Tendon.

After flawlessly tying a Yun Family surgical knot, Yun Sheng felt weak all over, as if all her strength had been drained in an instant, and she leaned back onto the bed.

Conducting surgery demands extremely stringent standards on the surgeon's psychological and physical condition.

In her past life, although Yun Sheng was proficient in both Eastern and Western medicine and once participated in a United Nations medical mission as a Red Cross doctor.

In Wuji Continent, under such extreme conditions, completing a surgery that was extremely simplistic yet needed to incorporate both Eastern and Western medical knowledge, the burden on the body of a six-year-old girl can only be imagined.

Yun Sheng gently placed her hand on the chest of the Double-headed Dog, feeling its heart beating powerfully after the surgery.

At the corners of Yun Sheng's mouth, two small dimples appeared.

Dragging her exhausted body, she tidied up the surgical instruments in the room.

After tidying up, she carried the Double-headed Dog to the storage room behind the house and built a haystack nest for it.

Father Yun Canghai did not like animals, and Yun Sheng planned to release the Double-headed Dog only after it had recovered somewhat.

When Yun Canghai returned home, he could not find the petite figure of his daughter Yun Sheng, only the sound of boiling water gurgling from the kitchen.

Walking into the kitchen, Yun Canghai paused in astonishment.

The lid of the porridge pot was open, and the rice grains inside were tumbling continuously.

Daughter Yun Sheng was lying on the dining table, sleeping soundly, still wearing her brand-new short robe of a Medicine Gathering Boy.

"Father, I will definitely become a Medicine Gathering Boy," her childlike words from when she left home in the morning still echoed in his ears.

On Yun Canghai's typically unemotional face, a fissure appeared as he walked over and picked up his daughter's small body, his eyes warming slightly.

Yun Sheng was indeed tired, having fallen asleep accidentally while cooking.

This sleep, however, was deep and disorienting.

In a daze, Yun Sheng felt she was in a warm and humid place.

A gentle, whispering female voice by her ear said: "Sheng'er, would you blame your mother?"

Yun Sheng's consciousness surged like a tide and she quickly woke up.

She discovered that her body had become small, with her limbs curled up, clearly still in the form of an infant.

Around her body was the warm amniotic fluid, the scenario from before Yun Sheng was born.

A beautiful woman, nearly unbelievably so, struggled to sit up in bed, large beads of sweat continuously sliding down her forehead.

The woman was in a simple house, on the verge of childbirth, having sent her husband Yun Canghai to find the midwife.

On the woman's hand, there was a ring, and she gently stroked her belly.

Yun Sheng was certain that this stunningly beautiful woman was her short-lived mother.

"Even though you haven't been born yet, your mother knows you must have inherited my talents. It's not that I am heartless, but without your ability to protect yourself, they are too powerful," the woman murmured softly, hesitating for a moment before placing her hand on her swollen belly.

"Mother can only leave it in the Beast Language Ring, until the day when your abilities awaken, then you can summon it. Yun Sheng, promise mother, you must live strongly, protect your father. It's my fault he can't return home and became a person everyone despises. I owe him too much."

The strikingly beautiful woman finished speaking and left a seal on the ring.

A moment later, the Beast Language Ring returned to its normal state.

After using Magic Power, the beautiful woman moved and experienced a miscarriage, with sweat pouring like rain, and her legs were a wet mess.

At that moment, from outside the house, a clamor erupted, "Hu Jiusheng, so you are hiding here!"

The beautiful woman scoffed, now holding a Bone Staff, she quickly started chanting.

With a booming sound, the house exploded.

In the instant the house exploded, Yun Sheng awoke from her dream.

The day had already brightened, and Yun Sheng wiped her forehead, finding herself covered in a cold sweat.

She looked down at the Beast Language Ring on her hand, which was originally dull and without luster, now shining brightly on the band.
