"Like I said, you should ask him." Luke had just led his team on a vain chase and was holding back a bellyful of anger.
Mrs. Haney looked towards her husband, "Clement, what have you done?"
Clement Haney showed an innocent expression, "I haven't done anything."
Jenny said, "Lies. On our way to rescue Tayana Haney, you called Franco Toure. By the time we got there, Franco Toure had already fled with your daughter.
Now, your daughter has disappeared again."
"Oh God!" Mrs. Haney exclaimed, slapping her forehead, "Clement, were you just on the phone with Franco Toure?"
Clement Haney sighed and sank into the couch, "I did call him."
Luke demanded, "Why did you call him? Didn't you know he could possibly kidnap your daughter?"
Clement Haney casually replied, "He wouldn't do that. The last time my daughter went missing, it was he who found her.
Moreover, my daughter likes him a lot, and this isn't the first time he's taken her out to play. It has never been dangerous.
I only called to ask him to bring my daughter back, that's all."
Luke looked at him as if looking at an idiot, "You're a man too, you should know that lust is in a man's nature. Aren't you worried he might hurt your daughter?"
"Why are you so sure?"
"Give me a reason, and it better be a convincing one, or I'm taking you back to the station."
Clement Haney raised his voice, "On what grounds are you taking me to the station? We haven't reported anything. My daughter is just out with a friend, what right do you have to take me away like a criminal?"
"We're here today not just because of your daughter. There are other girls who have had the same experience, and those girls are still being held captive and filmed in explicit videos.
And you've been tipping off the suspect, giving us reason to suspect you're involved in this case.

Seeing two officers approaching with handcuffs, Clement Haney looked frightened and involuntarily stepped back, "Heh heh, things aren't as you think, please let me explain."
"Give me a reason not to take you in."
"I understand Franco Toure, he would never hurt my daughter."
Clement Haney looked conflicted, as if there was something he couldn't quite bring himself to say.
Luke turned to Mrs. Haney and said, "Ma'am, I need to talk to your husband in private."
"I understand." Mrs. Haney agreed, looking at her husband,
"Clement, I trust Franco too, but right now, the most important thing is to find Tayana Haney."
"I understand." Clement Haney nodded, watching his wife go upstairs.
Luke spoke seriously, "Why do you trust Franco Toure so much?"
Clement Haney whispered, "He was hurt as a child."
"That reason isn't sufficient for me."
Clement Haney's voice dropped even lower, "He doesn't like women, so he won't hurt my daughter."
Luke laughed, "How do you know he doesn't like women? Maybe he's deceiving you."
"He's not lying to me, he's gay," Clement Haney stated firmly.
"He could be pretending."
Luke stroked his chin, "What is your relationship with Clement Haney?
I'll keep it confidential."
Clement Haney remained silent, shaking his head.
"If you don't tell me, I can find out. And once more people start investigating, I can't guarantee it'll stay confidential."
Clement Haney clenched his forehead, biting his lip, "He's my lover."
"Sir, please keep this confidential."
"Does your wife know?"
"It's been over a year."
Luke continued the analysis, "You think he's gay and wouldn't entertain unhealthy thoughts about your daughter. In order not to harm your relationship, you called to alert him to bring your daughter back."
"Did you mention the police were looking for your daughter?"
"Did you tell him about the video?"
"No, I just said the police were checking into my daughter's previous disappearance and didn't say more."
Luke said, "Are you aware that there's an orientation called bisexuality?"
Clement Haney's expression changed, mumbling to himself, "No, he wouldn't deceive me. He loves my daughter because he loves me. He's cared for Tayana like a father. He wouldn't hurt her."
Luke was somewhat bemused, "Then tell me, where is Tayana Haney now?"
"I..." Clement Haney faltered.
Suddenly, the front door opened from the outside.
A twelve or thirteen-year-old Caucasian girl with a pink backpack walked into the living room.
"Tayana, you're back!"
Clement Haney's face lit up with joy as he turned to Luke, "Captain Lee, I told you, Franco Toure is a good man. He wouldn't hurt my daughter."
At that moment, all the officers present were somewhat taken aback.
Luke pondered for a moment and seemed to understand.
Clement Haney hadn't mentioned the video, so Franco Toure was unaware of the gravity of the situation; he likely thought the police were just checking into the incident of Tayana Haney's disappearance in June, which is why he had sent Tayana Haney back.
