299 Reuniting
“Nonsense,” Fang Xiaonuan replied. “Your parents knew you weren’t their daughter from the start. They’ve always treated you like their own daughter. In order to keep you, Mrs. Liu even wanted to give Yanyu Corporation to Ji Lingchen for free. Because in their hearts, you’re more important to them. How could you not have a home?”
“The Ji family has been looking for you for 15 years, and they’ve been waiting for you to come home for 15 years. Besides, you still have me. Didn’t you say that best friends are family who won’t be separated throughout their lives?”
“Yeah, there’s still me! What are you afraid of?” Ji Wen agreed.
“You have so many family members who love you. Your happiness is twice that of others. What do you have to be afraid of?” Fang Xiaonuan said.
Liu Siyu said, “But anyone would need some time to digest something like this, right?”
They knew she needed time and that’s why everyone was giving her that.
Fang Xiaonuan put her arm around her friend’s shoulder and looked into the distance. “Xiaoyu, come back. The Ji family needs you.”
Ji Wen looked at the lake, silently worried about his life in the future. His uncle was already tough enough to deal with, and now there was the violent female warrior, Fang Xiaonuan.
It seemed like God felt that his life was not exciting enough, so he gave him a biological aunt, and an aunt who had bullied him for many years.
“Aunt, can I move out?” Ji Wen asked. He felt that his status at home was even lower than that of a dog.

“Xiaonuan, how did Mom leave?” Liu Siyu asked.
She remembered her mother as someone who always smiled at her gently. She always dressed her up in all kinds of pretty little dresses. Why was she not here? She did not even get to see her one last time.
Fang Xiaonuan replied, “A month after you went missing, Mom passed. Sister-in-law told me that she was heartsick, and that there was no medicine that could cure it. But… Dad told me today that she left because she saw your ‘corpse’ with her own eyes and it was too much for her.”
Liu Siyu turned to look at her friend in surprise. Even though she could not see Fang Xiaonuan’s face clearly, she could tell that she was sad. “So, my mom died because of me.”
Fang Xiaonuan nodded her head solemnly. “We’ll only know the details after Dad and my husband go to the Lin family’s house to confront them tomorrow. It’s complicated.”
Liu Siyu lowered her head in disbelief. “Why is it like this?”
Fang Xiaonuan shook her head. She had only just found out that such a complicated matter had happened in the Ji family. “Xiaoyu, can you still remember what that person looked like?”
Liu Siyu shook her head. She had been young at that time. So many years had passed, and her memories had long faded. In addition, she had been too frightened, so many of her memories were jumbled up.
Fang Xiaonuan did not feel disappointed. She said in relief, “The Liu family saved you, and I’ve found you. You’re my sister-in-law, and Ji Wen is our nephew.”
Ji Wen looked at the calm lake and forced himself to calm down. He felt like life was a play. He had to be calm.
