Seeing Tao Tao taking so much trouble, Shen Cheng finally reacted.
She swam toward Tao Tao, propped herself up with her hands, and leapt to sit on the edge of the pool.
Her straight legs gently swayed in the water, evoking envy from Tao Tao.
As a woman, who wouldn’t want a beautiful face and a perfect body.
Not to mention the extremely jealous Tao Tao, even the other maids probably harbored similar thoughts.
"Miss Shen, come, let me help you up..."
Tao Tao reached out to hold Shen Cheng’s arm, and Shen Cheng shot her a cold glare, "Hands off, I’m a germaphobe."
Tao Tao’s hand stiffened for a moment, then she let go and opened her mouth to say something but said nothing.
She frowned, turned around and walked over to a sun lounger, picking up a clean towel.
"Miss Shen, please use this towel to dry off."
Shen Cheng did not take it, merely sweeping her indifferent gaze over the towel in Tao Tao’s hand, "Haven’t I said it already? I’m a germaphobe."
She deliberately emphasized the words ’germaphobe’, obviously aiming to slap Tao Tao’s face with them.
Tao Tao wasn’t a fool, and she obviously understood the implication, feeling embarrassed but not showing it, and smiling, "If Miss Shen finds it dirty, then please fetch one yourself. This one, I will take it to wash clean."
"Wash?" Shen Cheng smirked, "The one you wash, isn’t it still dirty?"
She didn’t leave Tao Tao any dignity, even taking away her most basic respect.
The hand under the towel clenched tightly, Tao Tao bowed her head, eyes revealing a trace of resentment.
But when she raised her head again, there was a smile, "Sorry, Miss Shen, my actions have caused you trouble."
Shen Cheng laughed inexplicably, "You? Are you even worthy?"
Even though she was smiling, it sent a chill down Tao Tao’s spine, her heart suddenly turning icy cold.
The hand beneath the towel grasped into a fist so tight that, despite the lack of long fingernails, Tao Tao felt an acute pain in her palm.
She bit her lip, other than swallowing this humiliation as a praise, what else could she do?
"Yes, I’m not worthy."
She spoke in a low voice, with a tone full of self-mockery.
In Shen Cheng’s eyes, such a reaction was beyond her expectations.
A woman, whose face has been disgraced, without any place to hide her shame, yet still forcing herself to pretend as if everything is fine.
Not everyone has the ability to do that.
Under the glaring sun, Shen Cheng squinted her captivating eyes, looking at Tao Tao before her with an appreciative gaze.
Without a pretty face, without delicate features, nor a proud figure, but there’s a brazen and fox-like charm in her bones.
And that indomitable demeanor, as if declaring that if she ever turned the tables, she’d make sure Shen Cheng fell from heaven into the abyss, shattered to pieces.
Shen Cheng held her in high regard internally.
Too bad, she was an adversary, otherwise Shen Cheng would actually like to learn a thing or two from her.
See if she could learn some ways to ruthlessly deal with trash.
Steeled with determination, Tao Tao knew that continuing this would be pointless, yet she didn’t plan to just leave.
She put the towel back in its place, stepped aside and looked at Shen Cheng, humbly starting, "Miss Shen, I know that whatever I say now is useless, you won’t listen to me. However, I think I still need to give you a final warning, the young master really detests people touching his things, especially the water in this pool. If he finds out, the consequences will be severe."
