Chi Enen had no idea what was going through his mind; she was so busy that she broke into a sweat but finally managed to bandage his wounds one by one, although the outcome looked a bit… unsatisfactory.
Li Beijue glanced down at the gauze on his body that resembled an extra layer of clothes, his complexion as dreadful as a rotten tomato, and said irritably with a sidelong glance, “Chi Enen, do you think you’re wrapping a mummy?”
He reached out to tear it off.
Chi Enen quickly stopped him, “I tried to make it look nice, but you have too many wounds on your back. If I don’t wrap it , I can’t properly bandage it. Just bear with it for now, you can’t see it once you put on clothes, anyway.”
Li Beijue’s handsome face darkened.
Of course, it couldn’t be seen with clothes on, but he was shirtless now, in front of her!
What if, in the future, every time she thought of his body, she remembered it looking ?
The mere thought was unbearable for Li Beijue; he grew impatient and tried to pull at the gauze again, “Then don’t bandage it.”
“No, an uncovered wound can get infected.” Chi Enen firmly prevented him from touching the gauze.

Chi Enen knew her threat worked on him, she calmly let go of his hand, “Then don’t take off the gauze.”

She looked into his eyes again and added, “Li Beijue, I’m worried about you.”
The fury in the man’s eyes was extinguished by her words like water dousing flames.
His thin lips buzzed slightly as he let go of her, seemingly turning away from her in extreme irritation, his face still stiff and dark. However, he didn’t touch the gauze anymore and instead grabbed the storybook he had read to Bae Chi yesterday from the bedside, tossed it to Chi Enen, and lay down on the bed, commanding, “Tell me a story, I want to hear your voice.”
