Chi Enen wished she could hold her in her arms immediately, to reassure herself that she was truly safe and unharmed. Yet seeing Nuonuo on an intravenous infusion, she suppressed the excitement in her heart and coaxed gently beside the bed, “Nuonuo, be good, finish your infusion first, then Mommy will hold you, okay?”
Nuonuo kept moving restlessly.
She was strong, and the nurse, wary of hurting her, was struggling to restrain her. Suddenly, a teddy bear was extended towards her.
The little girl’s attention was instantly captured by the teddy bear.
Xi Zelie bent down to hand her the teddy bear, saying softly, “Nuonuo, how about playing with the toy first? Let the nurse give you the infusion, and don’t move around.”

“You need the infusion to get better, Nuonuo be good,” he said.
The one-year-old girl seemed to understand his words, stopped fussing, though she still looked pitiful. Xi Zelie handed her the toy bear, then instructed the nurse, “Take good care of the Miss.”
“Yes, Young Master Lie,” said the nurse, not daring to be negligent.
Xi Zelie took Chi Enen’s hand and said firmly, “Let’s go outside for now, she won’t peacefully receive the infusion with you here.”
“If she moves too much and the blood vessel gets punctured, it will be quite troublesome.”
Chi Enen steadied her mind, and although she didn’t want to leave, she had to admit that Xi Zelie made sense.
If Nuonuo were an ordinary child, puncturing a blood vessel might not be a big deal, but Nuonuo was not like ordinary children. If she punctured her blood vessel, it would be very problematic, especially when her body was already not in good condition—it would be even more troublesome.
She straightened her back, reached out to play with the little girl’s fringe on her forehead tenderly, and said softly, “Nuonuo, stay here and have your infusion, Mommy will step out for a bit.”

She also wanted to know how Nuonuo ended up here, and, what was her current state of health? Could she take Nuonuo with her? If she were to take Nuonuo away, what would be the conditions?
Xi Zelie led her downstairs.
Just as Chi Enen settled onto the sofa, the butler had already brought over two cups of brewed coffee.
“Please enjoy, Miss.”
After placing the coffee, he left without needing further instruction, well-trained as he was.
