"Instructor Zhao, now you know how formidable Qin Qin is," Gan Tiantian said, tilting her head up proudly as if she were the victor.
The rest of the Beijing University students stared at Qin Qin with astonished looks.
Instructor Zhao stood up, his face still showing unmistakable embarrassment and shame, "Qin Qin, you’re very good, I admit defeat."
It was his first loss, and to be defeated by a girl made Instructor Zhao feel humiliated.
Off to the side, Liu Wan roared angrily, "Impossible, how could this be?"
"What’s impossible? The fact that our Qin Qin won?" Gan Tiantian made a face at Liu Wan, finding her truly annoying.
"Don’t get smug," Liu Wan yelled furiously as she ran towards the outskirts of the training field.
As Liu Wan ran off, she failed to notice a man in military uniform and bumped into him. She looked up and her expression changed, "Young Master Jiang."
Jiang Qingtian gave Liu Wan an indifferent glance and said softly, "Get lost."
Liu Wan, startled, quickly scurried away.
Qin Qin’s gaze was on the figure not far away, as was Jiang Qingtian’s gaze on her, his expression complicated. By Jiang Qingtian’s side stood Sun Xiyang, who looked at Qin Qin and approached her, "Miss Qin, do you study at Beijing University?"
Hearing Qin Qin’s response, Jiang Qingtian’s phoenix eyes flickered with sadness. His hands hanging by his sides clenched slightly. She was studying in Jingdu City, and he didn’t even know. When had his relationship with her grown so distant?
"Brother Yang, do you know Qin Qin?" one of the instructors asked, puzzled.
Sun Xiyang laughed and walked over to the group, looking at the somewhat disheartened Instructor Zhao. He patted Instructor Zhao’s shoulder, "Xiao Zhao, don’t be upset. There’s no shame in losing to Miss Qin. You should know that not even our captain can beat her."
Instructor Zhao and the other instructors were taken aback, "What did you say?"
The Falcon Special Forces were what they aspired to join. Although Captain Jiang Qingtian was only in his early twenties, he was extremely formidable. Even Zhao Meng, skilled as he was, was no match for Jiang Qingtian. And now Sun Xiyang claimed that Captain Jiang himself couldn’t beat this Qin Qin. So, wasn’t Zhao Meng just slapping his own face by challenging Qin Qin? No wonder he was so severely defeated.
The group of instructors looked at Qin Qin with eyes that suddenly shifted from shock to admiration. Even Instructor Zhao, who had been downcast, now had an excited look on his face. He had always wanted to challenge Captain Jiang, and now he had, in fact, competed with someone even more formidable than the captain. Even in defeat, it was worth it.
Jiang Qingtian walked towards Qin Qin, his words seeming as if they were hard to come by, "Long time no see."
"Long time no see," Qin Qin replied to Jiang Qingtian in a quiet voice.
Sun Xiyang looked between Jiang Qingtian and Qin Qin with a hint of confusion; the atmosphere between Miss Qin and the captain seemed a bit aloof, or rather, Miss Qin seemed distant towards the captain. Had something happened between them that he was unaware of?
"Miss Qin, we’re going to have a dinner gathering soon. Would you care to join us?" Sun Xiyang walked up to Qin Qin, suggesting with a soft, friendly chuckle, trying to create an opportunity for Jiang Qingtian and Qin Qin.
"No thanks, I have lots of things to do later, you all go ahead." Since she didn’t like Jiang Qingtian, she couldn’t give him any chances, and her refusal had to be definitive.
Jiang Qingtian’s expression darkened slightly, and Sun Xiyang, sensing something, gave an awkward smile, "Then we won’t disturb Miss Qin any further."
Jiang Qingtian looked once more at Qin Qin, his voice hoarse, "Actually, you don’t have to... "
"We really do have things to do, right Tiantian?" Knowing about Qin Qin’s boyfriend Mo Yunchen and understanding Jiang Qingtian’s feelings for Qin Qin, she hastily interrupted him before he could say more.
Gan Tiantian appeared somewhat clueless but still nodded, "Yeah, we really have things to do."
"Let’s go," Qin Qin said softly, crossing past Jiang Qingtian to leave, with Mu Chienchien and Gan Tiantian in tow.
Pain flickered in Jiang Qingtian’s eyes as he watched her go. He didn’t understand why she was acting this way.
Sun Xiyang stood beside Jiang Qingtian, glancing at him without saying a word. When had Miss Qin and the captain changed , he sighed.
