"What’s wrong, Tianya?" Mo Qianhui walked out from the restaurant and glanced at Lin Tianya, who was looking into the distance.
Lin Tianya retracted her gaze, shook her head internally, and denied the possibility. She must have seen wrong; how could she have seen Master Mo dining with a girl? Impossible, she reasoned. Besides, it was just a Mercedes-Benz. Master Mo’s car was a Rolls-Royce Phantom; it couldn’t be his.
"Nothing, Auntie, I’ll take you home," Lin Tianya covered up, smiling gently at Mo Qianhui, her exquisite face displaying elegance and grace.
Mo Qianhui smiled contentedly in her heart and patted Lin Tianya’s hand, "Alright, your Brother Qingtian came back today, why don’t you come over and sit at my place for a while?"
A flicker of joy passed through Lin Tianya’s eyes as she nodded shyly, her smile blooming, "Mhm!"
Mo Qianhui’s smile grew wider as she and Lin Tianya got into the car and returned to the Jiang Family home.
Once Mo Qianhui got back to the Jiang Family residence, she handed her bag and coat to the servant, "Has the young master come home yet?"
Lin Tianya watched nervously from the side, waiting for the servant’s response.
"Madam, the young master has returned, but as soon as he did, he went straight to his room and hasn’t come out yet."
Mo Qianhui frowned slightly before smiling and saying to Lin Tianya, "Tianya, can you help Auntie check on your Brother Qingtian?"
With a faint blush on her cheeks, Lin Tianya nodded. It had been a while since she last saw Jiang Qingtian, and she wanted to see him.
As Lin Tianya went upstairs, Mo Qianhui elegantly sipped her tea on the sofa, secretly hoping that something good would come between the two and naturally, she wanted to help it along.
The door to Jiang Qingtian’s room was ajar. Lin Tianya stood at the door, taking a deep breath to calm her nerves before pushing open the door and entering. The room was filled with the smell of alcohol. She saw Jiang Qingtian, seemingly drunk, eyes closed, sitting on the sofa with several empty bottles of alcohol scattered around him.
Seeing this, Lin Tianya clenched her teeth and approached. Jiang Qingtian was peacefully asleep, apparently mouthing someone’s name. She leaned in closer to hear clearly, but before she could make it out, she felt herself being embraced.
The slurred voice filled Lin Tianya with fury, her eyes reddening as she looked up at Jiang Qingtian still hugging her and calling out Qin Qin’s name, "Brother Qingtian, why? What’s so good about her? She doesn’t have you in her heart; why do you still think about her? I’ve always liked you, I’ve always loved you. Why can’t you just see me, even if it’s just a glance?"
For so many years, she had admired him in her heart and had endured much for him.
Maybe it was the sound of her voice, but Jiang Qingtian opened his blurry eyes. His vision was hazy, and he thought he saw Qin Qin smiling at him.
"Is that you? Qin Qin, I knew you liked me. I will be good to you, I definitely will."
Jiang Qingtian, in his drunken haze, leaned down and kissed Lin Tianya. Lin Tianya kissed him back, tears rolling down her cheeks; even if she was being used as a substitute, at that moment at least he was kissing and holding her, even though his heart was with another woman.
Lin Tianya was pressed under Jiang Qingtian, and just when she thought there might be a next step, he suddenly pushed her away, staring at her in disbelief, "What are you doing here?"
Jiang Qingtian covered his aching head. He had been drunk and mistook Lin Tianya for Qin Qin. If it weren’t for the unfamiliar scent, he would have made a grave mistake... Damn it.
Jiang Qingtian’s strength was great; he pushed Lin Tianya onto the floor by the sofa, making Lin Tianya frown deeply.
"Brother Qingtian, I just saw you were drunk..."
"Enough, get out!" He couldn’t face Lin Tianya, and more so, he couldn’t face himself. What had he done? He had actually kissed Lin Tianya. Although he hadn’t done anything too severe, he felt sick to his stomach.
"Brother Qingtian, Tianya loves you. I don’t mind being your substitute, just so long as you glance at me," Lin Tianya got up, deciding she had to speak the words she had never dared to say before.
She got to her feet and walked towards Jiang Qingtian, intending to embrace him, but once again, he pushed her away.
With pain flashing in her eyes and tears welling up, Lin Tianya continued, "Brother Qingtian, Auntie will never let you marry Qin Qin. She’s not right for you, only I am, only I am the perfect match for you."
"Enough, whether she’s suitable or not is for me to decide. Tianya, I’ve always thought of you as a sister. Just go back, I’m tired," Jiang Qingtian turned away, unwilling to talk any further with Lin Tianya.
As the sound of clothing hitting the floor reached him, Jiang Qingtian’s expression changed, and when he turned around, a figure had already flung itself into his arms.
