Qin Qin was still in the midst of sleep when the door of the room was knocked by a servant. She had only managed to fall asleep when it was almost dawn last night.
"Miss Qin." The gentle voice of a middle-aged woman sounded, it was Steward Wei, the housekeeper of Mo Yunchen’s villa. It was said that she had watched Mo Yunchen grow up, and had been away for a while due to family matters.
Qin Qin opened her eyes to find herself alone, and upon checking the time, it was nearly noon. She had slept that long. That beast Mo Yunchen, but thankfully he hadn’t left any marks on her.
Qin Qin put on her nightgown and got up to let Steward Wei in.
Steward Wei was a kind and affable-looking woman who became increasingly respectful towards Qin Qin after knowing that she was Mo Yunchen’s girlfriend, "It’s almost noon, I was afraid you might be hungry. The makeup artist is already waiting outside and can start as soon as you’ve finished eating."
Qin Qin was about to walk into the bathroom when she paused at Steward Wei’s words, "What makeup artist?"
Steward Wei bent slightly, her smile lifting, "It was Master Mo’s orders. Please have your meal first; lunch has been prepared for you."
Qin Qin nodded, quickly freshened up, and came out of her room for lunch.
Qin Qin sat on the sofa in her room, with five or six stylishly dressed women standing in front of her. Leading them was a woman in her thirties, "Miss Qin, hello, my name is Kelly. Master Mo has asked us to make you look beautiful for today’s banquet."
"Banquet? What banquet?" She didn’t receive any news. What was Mo Yunchen up to?
Before Qin Qin could react, she was already being led by Kelly to sit down at the vanity table, where Kelly’s assistant opened Kelly’s makeup box, and Kelly began applying makeup on Qin Qin.
"Miss Qin, your skin is so good, this is the first time I’ve seen someone with such flawless skin," Kelly exclaimed. She hadn’t noticed before, but now close to Qin Qin, she realized Miss Qin’s skin was so flawless it made all women envious.
Kelly’s several assistants looked over as well, unable to help but admire.
"Yes, Miss Qin, how do you maintain such good skin? How do you take care of it?"
"Really, it’s completely flawless."
Qin Qin was surrounded by a few assistants, and she smiled lightly, "I haven’t taken special care of it, just been consistently using Ice Muscle Paste from Heavenly Medicine Clinic."
"I know about Heavenly Medicine Clinic. I’ve heard there’s a master there who is highly skilled in medicine and fortune-telling. Their products are quite expensive, but I’ve heard they are very effective," one of the assistants exclaimed in amazement, and the others quickly inquired about the clinic.
Kelly looked at the seated Qin Qin. She was in her thirties and although she took good care of her skin, she still had quite a few wrinkles around her eyes. Seeing Qin Qin’s skin, she couldn’t help but ask, "Miss Qin, can Ice Muscle Paste remove wrinkles?"
"Yes, it can. It can remove wrinkles as well as dark spots on the face."
Kelly was delighted, "To have such good beauty and skincare products, I must go and buy some another day."
Having finished speaking, Kelly started applying makeup on Qin Qin, "Miss Qin, with your skin being so good, I’ll just apply light makeup; heavy makeup would actually not look as nice."
"Sure, do as you think best."
An hour later, Kelly finished Qin Qin’s makeup—reflected in the mirror was an exquisitely beautiful face: Willow eyebrows curved, long curling lashes over clear, beautiful eyes that shone like jewels, the nose pert, and the lips beneath like vibrant petals, tempting one to have a taste.
"I hadn’t expected Miss Qin to be this beautiful with makeup," Kelly said in admiration. She had done makeup for many nobles before but had never been so astounded.
"Is it done?" Qin Qin asked softly.
"Just a moment longer, your hair still needs to be done, Miss Qin," Kelly put down the makeup, looked at Qin Qin once more, and picked up the curling iron to attend to her hair. Twenty minutes later, Qin Qin’s black hair was styled into big waves by Kelly, adding a touch of allure to her innocence.
"Where are the clothes Master Mo prepared?"
"Right here." A servant came in with a large box.
Kelly nodded, stepped forward, and opened the box—it contained a white evening dress.
"Miss Qin, please put it on, it was carefully prepared for you by Master Mo."
Qin Qin stood and, with the help of the assistants, donned the white evening dress.
"My goodness, how gorgeous!"
An assistant couldn’t help but cover her mouth, exclaiming in awe.
