"Qin Qin, what’s wrong with you?" Gan Tiantian, seeing the agony on Qin Qin’s face as she clutched her head, was about to get out of the car.
"Get away from here, quick!" Qin Qin, with her head in her hands, yelled at Gan Tiantian.
Gan Tiantian bit her lower lip, her expression pained, as she started the car to leave. She knew that if she didn’t leave, she would definitely become Qin Qin’s weakness; she had to find someone to rescue Qin Qin.
As Gan Tiantian drove away, she reached for her cell phone only to discover it wasn’t in her pocket. Damn it, when had it fallen out? Or had she left it in the Kuan-Yun Hin VIP room? How could she have been so careless?
Vermilion Bird let Gan Tiantian leave, since her target wasn’t Gan Tiantian anyway. As long as she killed Qin Qin, her mission would be considered complete.
After Gan Tiantian left, Qin Qin breathed a sigh of relief and, struggling, stood up to coldly face Vermilion Bird.
"Your spiritual power is indeed strong!"
Vermilion Bird stood in front of Qin Qin and said admiringly.
Everyone possesses spiritual power, which varies in strength. Her spiritual power was of a rare kind, with especially strong brain waves, referred to by some as a Special Ability. A normal person would have already gone mad if attacked by such powerful spiritual waves, but unexpectedly, Qin Qin was still able to stand and coldly face her.
"Though still not as strong as mine, what a pity," Vermilion Bird said, then signalled with her eyes to three assassins. One of them nodded, took out a dagger, and handed it to Vermilion Bird, who approached Qin Qin.
"Normally, I would just kill you immediately, but I was instructed to torture you before ending your life. So, sorry about this, but it’s what you get for crossing someone."
The assassin behind took out a phone, ready to record the process of Qin Qin being tortured.
Vermilion Bird’s gaze turned icy as the dagger in her hand slashed towards Qin Qin’s arm.
Qin Qin raised her right hand and grabbed the dagger coming at her, blood flowing from her palm. The pain stimulated Qin Qin’s already aching head. She twisted her hand, and catching Vermilion Bird off-guard, she seized Vermilion Bird’s wrist and, with an ’ow’ from Vermilion Bird, the dagger was dropped.
The disgraced Vermilion Bird lifted her head and looked coldly at Qin Qin, "Good, very good. I underestimated you, you can even fight back."
Vermilion Bird laughed nastily, her eyes darkening with malicious intent as she focused her spiritual power to attack Qin Qin’s head again.
Qin Qin, in pain, stepped back unsteadily and was about to fall when a pair of hands reached from behind to catch her, steadying her.
Vermilion Bird and the three assassins were on high alert as they looked toward the newcomer; Qin Qin lifted her head to see who had steadied her.
The person approaching wore a knee-length sky blue dress and, shockingly, their face and hair were covered with a veil, revealing only a pair of crystalline blue eyes, as beautiful as the ocean.
Who was this person who had caught Qin Qin silently, unknown to them?
"Who are you?" Vermilion Bird asked coldly. "If you know what’s good for you, get out of here."
"Are you alright?" The newcomer ignored Vermilion Bird and instead asked Qin Qin tenderly, her voice carrying an elderly rasp.
Qin Qin shook her head, looking at the hands that held her. The figure of the woman was Exquisite and clearly that of a young woman, but she had the voice of the aged, and her skin had the loose creases of someone in their sixties.
Being ignored, Vermilion Bird, who always held a high position in the Shi Organization, frowned darkly, "Fine, then don’t blame me for being inhospitable."
Vermilion Bird narrowed her eyes, and directed her spiritual power at the woman beside Qin Qin. The woman turned her head, her blue eyes calmly meeting Vermilion Bird’s. With a single glance, a spiritual power far stronger than hers surged into Vermilion Bird and the three assassins, causing their heads to explode with unbearable pain, as if someone was ruthlessly tearing at their brains.
"Ah, it hurts." Vermilion Bird and the three assassins clutched their heads, rolling on the ground in agony.
"How... how is this possible?" Vermilion Bird screamed frantically. Her ability could only make a single person suffer, yet who was this person who could make all four of them suffer at the same time? The power was so immense it felt like it was ripping her soul away.
The woman released Qin Qin and took a few steps forward, looking down at Vermilion Bird as her aged voice rang out, "Heaven granted you this ability not for you to harm others. Since you’ve misused it, don’t expect to be able to use it anymore."
After the woman spoke, an even more potent spiritual power rocketed into the heads of Vermilion Bird and the assassins. The next moment, following shrill screams, their eyes dulled and they began to laugh idiotically.
The four had been reduced to imbeciles, their minds wrecked by the stronger spiritual assault.
Seeing the four incapacitated, the woman turned back to Qin Qin. "Are you okay?"
