"Qi Dynasty? Emperor Qi Yuan? How can the Emperor of some Qi Dynasty be so miserly, to have nothing here at all?"
A tomb robber frowned unhappily as he looked around.
Old Black surveyed the surroundings and noticed that many areas had very little dust, which confirmed that there had indeed been many items here before; they must have been moved. Who could have had the capability to move all these items and leave only Emperor Qi Yuan’s Stone Coffin untouched?
"Boss, now only the Stone Coffin is left, what do we do?"
Old Black looked at the Stone Coffin in the center of the Tomb Chamber, "Open it."
"You’re brilliant, boss. There must be a lot of stuff inside Emperor Qi Yuan’s Stone Coffin. Let’s all open it together."
Several of them jumped to the side of the Stone Coffin, and everyone pushed slowly to slide the lid open. The Stone Coffin emitted a dull sound, moving with the sound of quiet friction.
"Boss... boss... come over and take a look." A skinny tomb robber’s eyes widened as he waved Old Black over; the other tomb robbers who had opened the Stone Coffin looked at it with joy and shock.
Old Black walked over with a perplexed expression and looked down.
The Gold-Threaded Jade Clothing, shimmering a radiant green, was worn on Emperor Qi Yuan. Despite a thousand years, the Gold-Threaded Jade Clothing hadn’t faded in the slightest, stirring excitement in whoever saw it.
"So beautiful! Is this the Gold-Threaded Jade Clothing?"
"Boss, we’re rich, we’re rich!"
The group was visibly excited, and the rest of the tomb robbers all crowded around.
Old Black, thinking to himself that he had never been as excited as this in his years of tomb raiding, was seeing the Gold-Threaded Jade Clothing for the first time in person.
"It’s too beautiful, too beautiful." Unable to resist, Old Black reached out to touch the Gold-Threaded Jade Clothing on Emperor Qi Yuan.
Old Black, engrossed and focusing on the bright green colored Gold-threaded Clothing, felt a sudden pain in his fingertip when he touched the part near the mouth, sliced by a piece of jade. Blood flowed into the innermost layer of Emperor Qi Yuan through the seams of the Gold-Threaded Jade Clothing, but as everyone focused on Old Black’s cut hand, they didn’t notice the blood on the clothing disappear completely, absorbed entirely.
"Boss, what happened?"
"It’s nothing, just a small cut, no big deal."
Old Black put his fingertip in his mouth, sucking away the blood that had welled up.
"Huh, where did the blood go?" A tomb robber looked at the Gold-Threaded Jade Clothing that previously had quite a bit of blood on it.
Old Black and the others looked at it and, indeed, where Old Black’s hand had been cut and where there had been quite a bit of blood, there was now none at all.
A sense of fear welled up inside everyone.
"Lee Si, don’t scare me."
"Who’s scaring you? Didn’t you feel some sort of heavy, oppressive sound?" Lee Si looked around but noticed nothing amiss. Nevertheless, he had heard it; his hearing was better than average.
"What sound, are you trying to spook us? Besides our own breathing, what sound could there be here?" another tomb robber spat out and said in a heavy tone.
"Shut up! There really is a sound."
Old Black’s expression darkened; he raised his hand to silence everyone and signaled them to listen carefully."
Everyone held their breath, looking around anxiously, with some of the more timid ones squeezing next to the braver ones and grabbing hold of them.
"Boss... boss, why do I feel corpse is breathing?" Lee Si’s voice trembled as he pointed towards the Gold-threaded Clothing.
Old Black’s eyes fell upon Emperor Qi Yuan, his expression changing, "Quickly back off!"
He clearly saw the chest of the body rise and fall slightly. How could a body that had been dead for a thousand years possibly breathe?
Frightened, everyone backed away from the Stone Coffin, keeping several meters distance.
"Boss, could you have seen it wrong?" the skinny tomb robber who had come up asked. His name was Zhang San.
They waited for a while, but the corpse didn’t move; maybe they had been mistaken.
"The sound seems to have stopped. Boss, could it just be our imagination?" Lee Si approached Old Black, speaking nervously.
"I’ll go take a look." Zhang San, who wasn’t easily scared, stepped forward; if it was just a misunderstanding, missing out on the Gold-threaded Clothing worth billions would be far too regrettable.
"Be careful." Old Black did not stop Zhang San and said to him quietly.
"Don’t worry, boss, it’s just a dead body, what’s there to be afraid of?" Zhang San laughed heartily as he stepped forward, stood in front of the Stone Coffin, and saw no movement. He leaned closer to listen if there was any breathing.
"Hmm!" A muffled, painful groan echoed.
All of those standing below, including Old Black, watched as Zhang San leaned his head into the Stone Coffin, visible only from the chest down, and suddenly they heard a muffled grunt from him; the group quickly yelled out.
