"Where are my things? Give back what’s mine!"
Qi Shangyi’s handsome face was shadowed and frosty, filled with the murderous intent of death.
"Wha... what thing?" Qin Qin’s ethereal voice was somewhat hoarse. She knew what he was asking for—the thing she had taken from the tomb.
"Return what’s mine, give me back Qingqing." Qi Shangyi advanced on Qin Qin, a suction force emanating from him that made her feel uncomfortable and drawn toward him, his hands shaped like claws, obviously intending to snap her neck.
Looking at his bloodshot eyes and the deathly aura enveloping him, Qin Qin’s nose felt sour while the Spiritual Power within her body emanated, dissipating Qi Shangyi’s suction force.
His phoenix eyes fixed on Qin Qin, his blood-red, narrow eyes hungry and icy. Could this woman actually withstand his power?!
"Qi Shangyi, forget about Qingqing, she’s long been dead!" she choked out, unwilling for him to still be fixated on her former self after a millennium. Qingqing died a thousand years ago, so why must he still cling to her memory; wouldn’t it be better to forget?
"No, you shut up, give my Qingqing back to me." Qi Shangyi closed in on Qin Qin rapidly. Biting her lip, she retreated, vaulting over the living room sofa to put a few meters between them, gazing at him in agony as he crazed.
In her past life, she owed him a debt she could not repay, and it seemed this life was no different.
She had not expected him to come back to life, let alone that upon his return, he would search for her corpse. She was dead; was her body really that important to him? Why would he rather die than forget her?
His deep love, his profound affection, she truly had no way to reciprocate.
"Qi Shangyi, you fool, is she really that great?" She wanted to shout him awake, actually unwilling to admit to herself, truly unwilling, so she hoped to awaken him this way.
Qi Shangyi did not answer Qin Qin because, in his heart, the person in front of him was as good as dead, a soon-to-be-dead person. She had dared to steal his Qingqing, to steal something belonging to Qingqing, and he would not let her off.
Qi Shangyi stepped over the sofa, closing in on Qin Qin, "Return my Qingqing to me."
"She doesn’t love you, she never did, you fool." How foolish was he to be buried with her?
"No, shut your mouth, I’m going to kill you."
Qi Shangyi’s blood-red phoenix eyes were ice-cold as he gripped Qin Qin’s neck.
Qin Qin did not dodge; she knew that avoiding him tonight would be pointless, so she simply stopped trying to.
The pressure on her neck increased, and Qin Qin found it difficult to breathe. Tears filled her beautiful eyes as she looked at him, at the fool crazed over the corpse of Qingqing, a fool, a great fool, one to whom she owed so much that she could never repay.
"Return my Qingqing to me." Qi Shangyi’s actions intensified, his phoenix eyes turned bloodshot and his body was cold without a trace of warmth.
Qin Qin stared at Qi Shangyi in pain, suddenly reaching out to touch him, feeling his icy body, and she couldn’t help but let the tears fall, "Are you cold, Qi Shangyi, are you cold?"
Qi Shangyi’s bloody phoenix eyes were stunned as he saw the tears in Qin Qin’s eyes. He felt a twinge of pain; it was as if he saw Qingqing crying. No, he couldn’t be seduced by her. Qingqing died with him; perhaps she, like him, had also come back to life, only this woman was hiding her.
"Shut up! Where is my Qingqing?"
"Qi Shangyi, she doesn’t love you, she never has, and can’t repay you. Why be such a fool?" Qin Qin roared at him, in pain and discomfort. She didn’t want to see him , she really didn’t.
"No, no!" He refused to hear the words from Qin Qin’s mouth, and tightened his grip on her neck, "Give my Qingqing back to me, or I’ll kill you."
Qin Qin struggled to breathe, the tears in her beautiful eyes stopped, her gaze locked on Qi Shangyi, "Qi Shangyi, I am Qin Qing."
No sooner had Qin Qin spoken than the hand clasping her throat tightened. Qi Shangyi didn’t believe her, "Shut up, don’t think you can deceive me, my Qingqing isn’t ."
Qin Qin’s heart ached as it contracted, she slowly began, "Qin Qin is Qin Qing, Qin Qing is Qin Qin. I don’t know why, but after I died a thousand years ago, I was reborn in this world."
Qi Shangyi’s phoenix eyes stared at Qin Qin, still unwilling to believe.
Qin Qin knew he was reluctant to believe; she hadn’t wanted to tell him that she was Qin Qing, but with the way things were, it seemed it would never end unless she told him.
"That year, it was me who saved you in Sky Street, and then..."
Qin Qin slowly recounted the events only she and Qi Shangyi would know. As she spoke more, the hand Qi Shangyi had around her neck gradually loosened, and his stern face began to shake and tremble with shock.
