Mo Sheng entered Mo Yunchen’s office in a panic, not even knocking before entering with a package in his hand.
Mo Yunchen stood before the floor-to-ceiling windows with a dark expression, overlooking the distant skyscrapers. As the door was opened from outside, he spoke without turning his head, "President Mo, Miss Qin has met with trouble!"
Mo Sheng walked up to Mo Yunchen, and Mo Yunchen quickly turned around, seizing Mo Sheng by the collar, "What did you say?"
"Miss Qin is in trouble, someone sent this package to you."
The secretary had asked him to receive the package, saying it was for President Mo and had to be opened by him personally, for fear it contained something harmful to President Mo. Mo Sheng had opened it first and found a tuft of hair and a bloodstained cellphone inside. Upon activating the phone, he saw Miss Qin lying unconscious on the ground, covered in blood, with her hands and feet tied.
Mo Yunchen stared at the box that Mo Sheng had opened, his face darkening, "What is this?"
"This is Miss Qin’s hair, you should look at the cellphone first."
Mo Sheng handed the phone to Mo Yunchen. When the phone was turned on, the screen showed a woman lying unconscious on the ground, disheveled and dirty, with only her profile visible. It was indeed Qin Qin. Her face was smeared with blood, and her entire body was covered in it, with her hands tied behind her back.
The footage was shaky, and after about ten seconds, a voice modified to sound different spoke from the screen.
"Mo Yunchen, if you don’t want your fiancée, Qin Qin, to meet with misfortune, then hurry to Mingding Mountain immediately. You must come alone. If you don’t show up, this time it’s hair; next time it will be Qin Qin’s fingers. If you don’t comply with the agreement, then be prepared to collect Qin Qin’s corpse. You have one hour to get here."
"The address, you should know it. It’s where your mother... Heh heh heh... I’ve brought up a painful memory for you, haven’t I? I’m so sorry. I’ll be waiting for you."
"One hour, remember. If you don’t arrive in one hour, you know the consequences."
The unpleasant modified voice ended, and Mo Sheng looked up to see Mo Yunchen with bloodthirsty, chilling eyes, cold as ice, "President Mo, could this be a trap? How could Miss Qin be captured so easily?"
With a bloodthirsty, grim expression and his eyes flashing crimson, Mo Yunchen crushed the phone in his hand, disregarding the blood in his palm, and strode out.
"President Mo, let me go with you," Mo Sheng said worriedly, taking out his phone to contact Mo Tang and ask him to send people.
Mo Yunchen stopped, his gaze coldly fixed on Mo Sheng, "Stay."
Mo Sheng’s steps halted, and he could only watch helplessly as Mo Yunchen left. Still worried, he called Mo Tang.
At the entrance of Mo’s building in Jingdu City, a Bentley sped past, drawing curses from many pedestrians. However, upon recognizing the license plate, no one dared to curse further, for fear of bringing trouble upon themselves.
Inside the car, Mo Yunchen was speeding through Jingdu City. Fortunately, there was no traffic at this time. His car flew like the wind, and his excessive speed caused several accidents on the road. Mo Yunchen couldn’t care less about that; his only thought was that he needed to reach Mingding Mountain as fast as possible.
The images he had seen had a shocking impact on him, so much so that he couldn’t even imagine. He wanted to kill the person who had bullied her right now, to drink his blood, eat his flesh, and flay his skin.
If he found out who it was, he would dismember that person without mercy.
Thinking of Qin Qin suffering, Mo Yunchen’s eyes turned blood-red and filled with ferocity, his entire being radiating a terrifying, intimidating aura.
To deceive Mo Yunchen, Mo Haoxuan and Jing Zhiyue had put a lot of effort into the ploy, finding a woman who resembled Qin Qin and, with her hair concealing her face, leaving only a very similar profile visible. In his rage and eagerness to rescue Qin Qin, Mo Yunchen had overlooked many details and therefore fell for the trap.
Mo Haoxuan and Jing Zhiyue capitalized on Mo Yunchen’s deep concern for Qin Qin, making it easy to lure him.
On the way, Mo Yunchen had tried to calm down and attempted to call Qin Qin. Jing Zhiyue had lured Qin Qin to a mountain where they had setup signal blocking devices, to prevent their plan from failing if Qin Qin answered her phone. Since Mo Yunchen couldn’t reach her, the likelihood of him being duped increased even more.
Mingding Mountain in Jingdu City was usually a scenic spot, but it was the off-season for the mountain, so not many people were visiting for sightseeing.
Mingding Mountain covered a vast area with extensive mountain ranges, much of which was undeveloped.
About twenty years ago, Mo Yunchen and his mother were kidnapped and taken deep into Mingding Mountain, where they spent several days and nights. In the end, Mo Yunchen’s mother died protecting him from violation by those men, triggering a drastic change in Mo Yunchen’s personality and leading to the development of a split personality.
