Mo Yunchen watched his woman busily tending to Qi Shangyi with a feeling that was far from pleasant, but this time he didn’t say anything. He turned and walked out onto the balcony, taking out a cigarette to smoke. He was usually very self-disciplined and hardly ever touched cigarettes.
The crimson tip of the cigarette was elegantly pinched between his slender fingers, yet he didn’t smoke it. Instead, his gaze was fixed on the distance, deep and far-reaching.
In the guest room, Qin Qin piled several blankets onto Qi Shangyi. Qi Shangyi managed a smile, "I’m not cold anymore, really, I’m not. Stop covering me."
His eyes were lifeless. Qin Qin, out of nervousness, failed to notice Qi Shangyi’s lifeless gaze.
"Let me check." Qin Qin said, reaching for Qi Shangyi’s hand, but he refused her, keeping his hand beneath the blankets.
"Are you lying to me? Are you still cold? Is it that the air conditioning isn’t warm enough, or are there not enough blankets?" Seeing Qi Shangyi made Qin Qin feel very uncomfortable—she felt that she was largely to blame for his current condition.
"Qi Shangyi, drink my blood," Qin Qin offered, extending her hand to him, "Drink, you’ll get better if you do."
"Qingqing, I promised you I wouldn’t drink blood anymore. These past few days I haven’t craved it as much. I’ll be alright, just a little cold. It’ll pass soon. Don’t worry."

Trembling, she placed her other hand in front of Qi Shangyi’s lifeless eyes and moved it. When he showed no reaction, Qin Qin covered her mouth to suppress her cries, "Qi Shangyi, Qi Shangyi."
"Qingqing, what’s wrong? Are you crying? I’m really fine, I’m good. Here, feel."
Qi Shangyi’s expression changed, and he reached out to grab Qin Qin.
Qin Qin stood up and grabbed Qi Shangyi’s hand, enduring the intense chill.
"You cannot see anymore? When did you lose your sight? Why didn’t you tell me?"
Her voice trembled with bitterness.
Qi Shangyi forced a smile, his voice low, "I’m fine, I’ll be fine. It’s only temporary."
"Qi Shangyi, I’m sorry, I’m so sorry." If it wasn’t for her, he wouldn’t have ended up .
She was a divine healer, yet she couldn’t save him. What use was her divine healing talent then?!
"It’s not your fault, Qingqing. I won’t allow you to blame yourself, do you understand?" Qi Shangyi withdrew his hand, unwilling to touch Qin Qin anymore, afraid of making her cold.
"Qi Shangyi..." She choked on her tears, not knowing what to say.
"Don’t cry anymore, Qingqing. I’m really okay, just a bit tired."
Qi Shangyi smiled, his smile become noticeably more aged, visibly aging before her eyes.
Feeling the change in himself, Qi Shangyi turned his head away, not wanting Qin Qin to see him aging again.
"I’m tired, I want to rest. Qingqing, you should go out first."
Qi Shangyi lay down, silently enduring the bone-gnawing chill.
"I’ll stay with you. Rest now," Qin Qin whispered. She owed Qi Shangyi too much; all she could do was accompany him during these last days.
"Qingqing, will you accompany me to watch the sunrise tomorrow?"
Once, he had been chased to the outskirts of the capital, to the top of a mountain, where she was gathering herbs. She saved him once again, staying with him all night until the sunrise was about to break. His men took him away before it came, and he had since longed to watch a sunrise with her but never had the chance. This time, he wanted to fulfill that long-held wish.
"Yes! I’ll accompany you."
Ultimately, Qin Qin left Qi Shangyi’s room, aware that he did not want her to see his disheveled state.
Just after stepping out of the room, at the corridor, Mo Yunchen’s figure appeared before her. Seeing the tears at the corner of her eyes, he had a complex expression as he raised his long fingers to gently wipe away her tears.
"I don’t like you crying over him!" Heaven knows how the jealousy in his heart was nearly consuming him whole.
He wished he could take Qin Qin away, to never let her see Qi Shangyi again.
If Qi Shangyi was meant to die, why should he resurrect only to torment his Qinqin, making her miserable? He deserved to die, truly deserved it!
"Mo Yunchen, I feel terrible." Qin Qin rushed into Mo Yunchen’s arms, wrapping her arms around his waist and letting her tears fall uncontrollably.
"I owe Qi Shangyi so much, I could never repay it in this lifetime."
"I don’t love him, but I treat him as my best friend, and now that he’s turned out this way, I have no way to cure him. I told him to drink my blood, but he wouldn’t do it. What should I do?"
