Jing Zhimei had lunch prepared, and despite the servants’ attempts to stop her, she left the villa to head to Mo Corporation.
Upon entering Mo Corporation, many employees came forward to greet her respectfully, addressing her as "Madam".
Jing Zhimei lifted her smile gently, responding warmly. Though they weren’t truly acknowledging her, the sentiment still left her feeling satisfied. Everything that belonged to Qin Qin would be hers, Jing Zhimei’s, one day.
Carrying a lunch box, Jing Zhimei was about to head toward the president’s private elevator when an astonished voice called from behind. Turning around, she faced two women dressed in Mo’s employee uniforms approaching her, one of them excitedly held up a basket, "Madam, these are peaches from my family’s orchard, completely untreated, all-natural. Please don’t look down on them."
Lee Ximeng and Mo Xiaomi had just picked the peaches and were planning to share them with the company staff. They were surprised to see the Madam and rushed forward, hoping she would try some. Knowing that the Madam had always lived a life of luxury and tasted all sorts of fine foods, they hoped she wouldn’t dismiss their offer.
Lee Ximeng thought that with the Madam being such a kind person, she certainly wouldn’t look down on her gift.
Seeing no reaction from Jing Zhimei, Lee Ximeng smiled apologetically, "I’ve been meaning to thank you, Madam. My mother’s illness has gotten better; thank you so much. Without your help, I don’t know what I would have done. I know these peaches aren’t much, but if you don’t mind, please try them; they are very sweet."
"Yes, indeed, Madam, Mengmeng’s peaches are really delicious," Mo Xiaomi chimed in from beside her. Looking at Jing Zhimei, she felt something was off. The first time she saw the Madam, she was graceful, elegant, and her smile enchanting and beautiful. But this time, it seemed like she noticed a frown flash across the Madam’s face, or was it her imagination?
Surely the kind and friendly Madam would never act like that. She must have been mistaken.
Her junior sister was always one to meddle in other people’s business—she just couldn’t help herself!
Jing Zhimei scoffed inwardly, her face assuming a gently smiling demeanor as she picked up a juicy peach, "I’ll just take one; the rest you can give out to everyone else."
How could she possibly fancy such dirty, cheap things?
Watching Jing Zhimei take a large peach, Lee Ximeng said with a smile, "Okay, Madam, if you like them, let me know, and I’ll pick more next time."
After smiling and nodding toward the two women, Jing Zhimei turned and pressed the elevator button, her smile fading as the doors closed.
Lee Ximeng and Mo Xiaomi headed in the other direction to offer some peaches to the receptionists first.
After distributing the peaches, they waited by the regular elevator. Mo Xiaomi took out a tissue to clean her slightly dirty hands. Heading to the trash can to dispose of the tissue, she unexpectedly saw a juicy peach in the garbage. She looked perplexed and said, "Mengmeng."
"What?" Lee Ximeng, standing by the elevator with the basket, turned to glance at Mo Xiaomi by the trash can.
"Don’t bring peaches to the Madam anymore," Xiaomi said in a low voice to Ximeng.
"Why not? My peaches are tasty. The Madam, being such a good person, wouldn’t look down on them," Lee Ximeng said, puzzled.
Mo Xiaomi was also confused; the Madam they’d previously met was so kind, but this time, something felt amiss.
"Never mind, the elevator is here. Let’s go up," Xiaomi said, not wanting to elaborate, and pulled Lee Ximeng into the elevator.
Jing Zhimei wiped her hand, soiled by the peach, and after leaving the elevator, she tossed the tissue into the bin next to it. Then, lifting the corners of her lips into a charming smile, she walked towards Mo Yunchen’s office.
Several secretaries carrying documents approached and respectfully said to Jing Zhimei, "Madam, are you here to bring lunch for President Mo again?"
Her grip tightening on the lunch box and a forced smile on her face, a coldness flashed in her heart. She hadn’t expected that Qin Qin had also brought lunch for Mo Yunchen? Hmph! From now on, it would be her responsibility, and there would be no need for that wretch Qin Qin to bother.
"Yes, have you all had yours?" She had to keep up the charade and speak amicably with these people, no matter how distasteful she found it.
"Not yet, we’re just about to go eat."
"Madam, President Mo is in his office; please go ahead."
The secretaries smiled and left, and Jing Zhimei’s expression darkened as she walked to Mo Yunchen’s office. She adjusted her clothes and hair, then, with a beautifully sweet smile, entered Mo Yunchen’s office.
Mo Yunchen sat in his president’s chair with a tall stature; his head lowered, side profile precise and focused. Jing Zhimei was mesmerized. She had liked him for over a decade, and even with hatred in her heart, she was still enchanted by him.
