"I...I think I’m about to give birth!"
Qin Qin’s forehead was covered in a thin layer of cold sweat as she pressed her hands against her huge, protruding belly and whispered to Mo Yunchen.
Mo Yunchen suddenly froze on the spot. Qin Qin pulled him over with a laugh, "Aren’t you going to call for the doctor quickly?"
Seeing Mo Yunchen , Qin Qin almost forgot her pain. Was he frightened by her? Or was it the sudden arrival of their child that caught him off-guard? Or perhaps his inner tension and eager anticipation made him momentarily speechless.
She had just returned home, and Mo Yunchen had already summoned several gynecologists to stay in the villa, just waiting for the day she would give birth.
"Someone, hurry and call the doctor."
Mo Yunchen stood up and roared outside, where servants were always on a night watch, fearing that Qin Qin might go into labor suddenly.
The servants quickly ran towards the doctors’ rooms.
Qin Qin, lying on the bed, looked at Mo Yunchen, who was standing with his back to her, clearly tense, and shook her head with a smile.
It was the first time she had seen Mo Yunchen lose control , which was quite amusing.
In less than a few minutes, several female gynecologists entered Mo Yunchen’s room, and a nurse asked Mo Yunchen to wait outside, "Master Mo, please wait outside first. We’ll take care of things here."
Mo Yunchen stood in the corridor with his tall, upright figure, his face cold, his gaze fixed on the tightly closed door.
Qin An and Lee Fong came running down from downstairs in a panic. After Qin Qin returned, Qin An and Lee Fong had come to live there, with Lee Fong accompanying Qin Qin all the time.
"How is it going? Is it time for the birth?" Qin An asked nervously, while Lee Fong held him back, trying to calm him down.
"Dad, rest assured, you can go and rest now. I’m here," Mo Yunchen said softly, casting a glance at Lee Fong.
Lee Fong nodded at Mo Yunchen, took Qin An away, "Let’s go and rest; you can’t help here. If anything happens, Yunchen will inform us."
In the end, Qin An was taken by Lee Fong to another room to rest temporarily.
Just as Qin An had left, Qin Qin’s pained cries came from the room. Mo Yunchen’s face turned even darker, and he clenched his fists behind his back, his nervousness and unease unseen by anyone.
With each passing cry of pain, Mo Yunchen’s expression grew gloomier, sweat of restraint forming on his forehead until he couldn’t bear it anymore and burst open the door to enter the room upon hearing Qin Qin’s heart-wrenching screams.
The servant standing guard tried to stop him, but to no avail, and couldn’t help but admire inwardly how good Master Mo was to his wife. In all births, women suffer in this way, but Master Mo couldn’t stand hearing his wife in the throes of childbirth and had to rush in.
The gynecologists assisting Qin Qin looked towards Mo Yunchen as he burst into the room, "Master Mo, this isn’t a place for you; it’s dirty and messy. Please, leave."
Mo Yunchen waved off a gynecologist who tried to stop him and moved forward to grasp Qin Qin’s hand, refusing to leave despite their urging.
Qin Qin opened her eyes, turned her head, and saw Mo Yunchen holding her hand. She smiled with difficulty, "Why did you come in? Get out!"
"I’m with you, I’ll always be by your side, I won’t leave!" With both hands holding hers, Mo Yunchen kissed her sweaty forehead without a care for her disheveled state.
Qin Qin lifted a smile, saying no more.
The gynecologists exchanged looks, seeing shock and envy in each other’s eyes. Jingdu City was full of rumors about how close Master Mo and Madam Mo were. Madam Mo had disappeared, he had canceled the wedding, even left Jingdu City to find her.
Thinking back to their first meeting with Madam Mo at the villa, they could hardly believe that Madam Mo would be ; they’d been instructed by Assistant Sheng not to show any disrespect in her presence, to avoid upsetting Master Mo. They hadn’t realized how serious Madam Mo’s accident was, but even so, it hadn’t lessened Master Mo’s deep love for her, with not a hint of disdain and instead, extra care and concern. These past days, they’d seen clearly just how deeply the couple cared about each other, to an enviable degree.
They say that wealthy families have plenty of money, but what they lack the most is affection, with relationships between husbands and wives often cool and distant. Even the sons of these families, once they have money and power, like to seek pleasure outside. Yet, here was Master Mo, the most powerful figure in Jingdu City, cherishing and doting on his disfigured wife, an enviable sight to behold.
"What are you standing around for? Can’t you see she’s in pain? Isn’t there any way to ease her pain?"
Seeing her in pain, he felt ten times more pain than she did. Even the slightest furrow in her brow made him want to smooth it away.
