In discomfort, his gaze was profoundly fixed on the mural upon the wall.
"I just want to see you again, even if it’s just a glimpse!"
"If you knew I’ve fallen from grace and became a demon, I wonder how disappointed you would be."
"While I long for your return to see me, I also hope you don’t come back, lest you see what I’ve become."
"I must look strange to you now; you certainly wouldn’t !"
"In this life, I have found you, you will love me, right!"
Qi Tianshang’s lips curved into a slight, forced smile as he closed his eyes, suppressing the Demonic Qi surging within. He had to control himself so that he could appear normal, to ensure that she wouldn’t be repelled.
The next morning, Qin Qin and Qi Tianshang sat opposite each other for breakfast. She ate very little, her appetite diminished by the presence of the man she disliked.
"I want to go out for a walk and buy some things."
After the meal, Qin Qin said indifferently to Qi Tianshang.
Behind his mask, Qi Tianshang’s eyes surveyed Qin Qin with a subtle scrutiny.
Qin Qin smirked coldly, "You think I won’t come back, that you can hold his life over me as a threat? I’m not so foolish as to leave."
Tianshang’s gaze softened, and he said in a low voice, "How could I doubt you? I just wondered if perhaps you were going out to buy things for our wedding."
Qi Tianshang attempted to reach out to touch Qin Qin but was avoided by her, and his eyes darkened slightly, "You should get used to my touch, Qinqin, for we will spend our lives together, won’t we?"
Qin Qin gave Qi Tianshang a cold glance, "Speak of such things when you are my husband. Until then, the only one entitled to touch me is Mo Yunchen."
Hearing Mo Yunchen’s name, Qi Tianshang’s gaze grew colder and more menacing behind his mask, "You’re by my side now, and I don’t want you to mention his name again. Besides mine, I wish to hear no other man’s name from your lips."
Qin Qin turned away, no longer willing to engage with Qi Tianshang, and walked outside.
Qi Tianshang raised his hand, and the woman who had led the way for Qin Qin appeared once more, "Follow Miss Qin."
"Yes, Honorable Master!"
The woman was named Bing Yue, one of Tianshang’s closest confidants.
Qin Qin and Bing Yue wandered around the bustling city center mall. Qin Qin led the way while Bing Yue followed silently, devoid of any attempt at conversation. Qin Qin did not mind; she knew Bing Yue was sent by Qi Tianshang to watch over her, so how could they have anything to chat about?
She had only come out to see Mo Yunchen after all. She knew that once she left the villa, Mo Yunchen’s people would inform him, and he would surely find a way to meet her.
She made sure to stay visible as she idled around the mall, not buying a single item despite the long wander.
A woman approached from a distance and bumped into Qin Qin, "I’m sorry, so sorry, I hope I didn’t hurt you."
The woman apologized profusely to Qin Qin, rubbing her arm and repeatedly expressing her regret.
Qin Qin patted the woman’s hand and shook her head, "I’m fine."
"That’s good, that’s good. It’s all my fault; I’ve been so out of it from working overtime. I’m sorry for bumping into you."
The woman apologized once more and then left.
Bing Yue had been standing behind Qin Qin the whole time. After the woman left, she spoke coldly to Qin Qin, "Miss Qin, are you all right?"
Qin Qin glanced at Bing Yue and shook her head, "I’m fine, let’s go. There’s a nice shop ahead, let’s go in and take a look."
Bing Yue nodded and entered the boutique women’s clothing store with Qin Qin.
Inside the store, Qin Qin glanced at Bing Yue, then casually selected a few pieces of clothing and entered a fitting room. No sooner had she closed the door than a strong figure pressed her tightly from behind. His breath fanned across her neck, his familiar cool scent enveloping her. She turned and held Mo Yunchen tightly, and as she raised her head, she was met with his intense, fierce kiss, tinged with a hint of punishment and yearning.
She wrapped her arms around Mo Yunchen’s neck, passionately reciprocating his kiss.
After a minute, she pushed Mo Yunchen away, stopping his kisses to avoid being discovered by others.
"Mo Yunchen, I’ve missed you so much." In just a short day, she yearned for him, missing him dearly.
He could not stand her staying with another man for a single minute, even though she was doing it to find an antidote for him.
"I can’t, I can’t go back."
Even though her heart ached for him, even though she longed to return with him right then, she had to restrain herself. She could not let anything happen to him; it was absolutely imperative.
Mo Yunchen’s eyes darkened, and his grip on her waist tightened. She held him, ignoring his coldness, and whispered, "I can’t let anything happen to you, Mo Yunchen, just like you can’t let anything happen to me. If something were to befall you, what would I do, what would our child do?"
