Qin Qin had wanted to quietly say a few words to Mo Yunchen on her way back to her room, but she was interrupted by Qi Tianshang, her expressionless face striding forward, with Qi Tianshang seemingly in a good mood following behind her. Following the two was Han Ye, with Mo Yunchen beside him in facial disguise.
Han Ye’s gaze suddenly drifted towards the calmly walking Mo Yunchen beside him, then he averted his eyes.
When the Honorable Master had been chasing after Miss Qin earlier, he had felt an icy chill next to him, but when he turned his head nothing seemed amiss. Could he have been mistaken?
He was extremely sensitive to anything happening around him, yet this time he seemed to be in error. The person by his side was the Honorable Master’s subordinate, and one of the most trusted at that, so it couldn’t possibly be this person who emitted that chilling presence.
As Han Ye pondered, the figures of Qi Tianshang and Qin Qin had almost vanished before them. He quickened his pace to catch up, while Mo Yunchen followed leisurely. Once Han Ye and the others disappeared from his view, Mo Yunchen looked up towards the distance, where that inconspicuous face that nobody paid much attention to flashed a pair of narrow phoenix eyes radiating a terrifyingly cold aura.
Qin Qin was startled, thinking Qi Tianshang was taking advantage of the situation to attack her, and was about to resist when she felt the familiar scent coming from him.
Her arms encircled the neck of the person who approached, her nightgown forcefully torn open by him. She grabbed his hand, "Mo Yunchen, stop it, this is Qi Tianshang’s territory, what you’re doing is too dangerous!"
To have infiltrated Qi Tianshang’s territory was dangerous enough, but now to sneak into her room and her bed in the middle of the night, Mo Yunchen was being incredibly bold, leaving even her heart to tremble with fear.
In the darkness, Mo Yunchen’s face appeared ghostly, still masked with that unremarkable disguise, which made Qin Qin feel somewhat distressed.
"Also, this face of yours, even though it’s still you, I just can’t bring myself to kiss it!"
The sensation was akin to feeling as if she were cheating. Although it was still him, it just felt so strange to her.
Mo Yunchen’s brows furrowed deeply as he was about to tear off the facial disguise, but Qin Qin stopped him, "Don’t, what if you’re discovered when you take it off!"
"Hurry and go back, do you know how dangerous this is?"
Qin Qin pushed Mo Yunchen away, but instead, he embraced her tighter in his arms, gently stroking her hair, and said in a low voice, "Nothing will happen."
There used to be surveillance in the hallway where Qin Qin walked, but out of strong dissatisfaction, she had it removed. There was practically no surveillance on her entire floor, a concession given by Qi Tianshang to her.
"Even if you’re careful, this is Qi Tianshang’s territory. I don’t want to see anything happen to you, understand?"
Leaning into Mo Yunchen’s embrace, Qin Qin felt a sudden sense of irritation and discomfort, knowing they were both on someone else’s grounds.
"Don’t risk yourself for me. Please go back, okay?"
Lifting her head to look at Mo Yunchen embracing her in the dark, Qin Qin spoke in a low voice.
A flicker of light passed through Mo Yunchen’s eyes in the dark as he kissed Qin Qin’s lips with precision, silencing her.
"I will always be by your side!"
Mo Yunchen stayed in Qin Qin’s room for quite a while before leaving. Qin Qin was anxious for a moment, but when there was no sound outside, she finally breathed a sigh of relief and fell asleep.
The next day, Qi Tianshang and Qin Qin sat together for breakfast, while Han Ye and Mo Yunchen in disguise, along with some servants, stood at a distance.
Qin Qin glanced surreptitiously at Mo Yunchen, then withdrew her gaze as the food on her plate tasted bland, and she ate with little interest.
Qi Tianshang, noticing her apparent lack of appetite during the meal, asked, "What’s the matter, is breakfast not to your liking?"
Qin Qin looked up at Qi Tianshang, then responded, "I don’t like people watching me eat. Let them go have their breakfast."
On any other day, she might not have minded, but she didn’t want Mo Yunchen to watch her eat, as it pained her with him standing there.
Qi Tianshang looked at Qin Qin, and then waved to Han Ye, "You all go down and have breakfast first."
Han Ye nodded, gesturing for everyone to leave. As Mo Yunchen’s figure also retreated, Qi Tianshang’s gaze lingered on his back for a moment longer. Afraid he might notice something, Qin Qin quickly spoke up, "Do you have plans today?"
Qi Tianshang smiled, evidently happy that Qin Qin was initiating conversation. He nodded in a good mood, "Didn’t I say I would accompany you shopping? You should think about marrying me, shouldn’t you?"
A heaviness settled in Qin Qin’s heart as Qi Tianshang’s gaze bore an aggressive edge, waiting for her response, "Qinqin, you should consider it well. You know that Mo Yunchen’s life is in your hands."
