He approached her, and Feng Bai stepped back, "Could you not come any closer, please?"
Li Jingmo’s footsteps halted, and Feng Bai breathed a sigh of relief, looking at him, "Who exactly are you? They seem to be somewhat afraid of you."
Li Jingmo glanced at Feng Bai and didn’t answer her. Instead, he walked to one side, took out a black shirt from the wardrobe, and changed into it.
His movements were elegant and noble, unhurried, and his strong and robust figure was concealed by the black shirt, exuding an ascetic charm that made one’s breath hitch.
Feng Bai was so captivated that when Li Jingmo turned around to look at her, she hurried to avert her gaze, her cheeks aflame and looking elsewhere anxiously.
"If you want to look, you can do so openly!" his low, sensual voice teased slightly.
Feng Bai pouted at him, "Nonsense, when have I ever wanted to look at you?"
Li Jingmo slowly approached Feng Bai, his right hand reaching to fasten the buttons of his shirt with his left, his movements leisurely and elegant, drawing Feng Bai’s gaze once more. By the time she realized it, Li Jingmo was already standing in front of her, his gaze mocking as he looked at her with a hint of a smile.
For some reason, the room felt hot, and she wanted to get out of there.
Li Jingmo methodically fastened the buttons of his black shirt, put on a suit jacket beside him, and said, "It’s not you, it’s us."
He stepped over with one leg and stopped in front of Feng Bai, scanning her from head to toe; she glared back at Li Jingmo as he fastened his black shirt.
Li Jingmo’s lips curved slightly as he turned once more to the wardrobe, fetched a thick, long overcoat, and approached Feng Bai.
Feng Bai looked at Li Jingmo and felt warmth envelop her; his overcoat was already draped over her. She looked at Li Jingmo as he covered her with the overcoat; the wariness in her eyes faded somewhat.
Li Jingmo took Feng Bai’s hand and walked toward the room’s exit. Feng Bai tried to withdraw her hand but was met with a glance from Li Jingmo.
"If you want to get caught by them, you can let go of my hand."
Feng Bai stopped trying to pull away, allowing Li Jingmo to lead her to the side where the elevator was. She curiously touched it and marvelled, "What is this? It’s really amazing!"
Li Jingmo looked at Feng Bai beside him, her unabashed curiosity evident. She really didn’t know about elevators?
"If I had known about this thing earlier, I wouldn’t have climbed the stairs."
Li Jingmo watched her puff up her cheeks in complaint, and he found it difficult to look away.
He held Feng Bai’s hand tighter, feeling the softness of those delicate hands, which made him reluctant to let go.
The elevator quickly descended; he pulled her out as they exited, and she gazed in fear at the people approaching. Would they take her back?
Li Jingmo felt Feng Bai’s fear beside him, raised his hand to embrace her, burying her head in his chest.
Feng Bai was startled, trying to struggle free, but Li Jingmo quietly warned, "Don’t move, or you’ll get caught and taken back."
Feng Bai quickly shook her head; she didn’t want to be taken back. Even though she was strong, she couldn’t fight off so many people.
Watching her behave obediently, Li Jingmo smiled and held her close as they walked forward.
Many people from the Dark Cabinet passed by, looking at Li Jingmo in surprise with the woman he concealed in his arms. Had Master Li actually gotten a woman?
Manager Bai and the female manager walked over from not too far away, and seeing Feng Bai held close, they were shocked and stepped aside, not daring to speak.
Li Jingmo, regardless of everyone’s astonished stares, held Feng Bai and walked on.
Li Jingmo’s car was parked outside the Dark Cabinet, and the driver, who had been following him for many years, was named Zheng Bin.
Zheng Bin looked at Li Jingmo with a shocked expression. What was going on? Master Li had a woman in his arms? This had never happened in all the years he’d known him!
Opening the car door, Zheng Bin didn’t dare to say much. He watched as Li Jingmo tenderly helped the woman into the car, still not quite believing it as he walked to the driver’s seat and started the car.
He wanted to glance at the back seat, but the privacy screen had already been raised, blocking his view.
Feng Bai, brought into the car by Li Jingmo, pushed him away and looked around, "Thank you for saving me. I won’t take your car, I’ll be leaving now."
She tried to open the car door but found it would not budge, "Can you tell me how to open this, please? Can you help me open it?"
Her gaze turned to Li Jingmo, and as their eyes met, he said, "You want to leave? Have you decided to go back on your promise? Or would you prefer to get out and be caught?"
